$1400.00 | | Purchased At: | beyondbikes.com | | Strengths: | smooth as butter, light, really adjustable | | Weaknesses: | pricey, high maintenance | | Similar Products Used: | 888rc, fox 40 | | Bike Setup: | Balfa BB7, sram drivetrain, avid brakes, deemax's, saint cranks, | | Bottom Line: | This is a very high quality fork. On other forks I have owned, you have to turn adjustment knobs quite a bit before you feel a difference, but on this fork, each click makes a noticeable differance, which is nice. When set up correctly, which is a very painless process, it feels bottomless, yet very supple to small bumps. The only downside I have found with this fork so far is that it requires more maintenance then your evryday fork. For instance, it uses a lot less oil due to the open bath lubrication, therefore requiring you change it more often. But for such high quality suspension, it is more then worth it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$900.00 | | Purchased At: | bikestore.cc | | Strengths: | great adjustability, very light (2650g),very very lively feeling (!), perfect sensitivity, great damping system - an overall very well designed product. | | Weaknesses: | paintings are on the weak side. I think the lowers are only painted not powdercoated. I will have mine powdercoated during winter. | | Similar Products Used: | Boxxer WC 2005, Fox 40R - but this one is much better! | | Bike Setup: | Santa Cruz VP Free with Fox dhx Air, ,built up very light, to suit my enduro - riding style. My bike weights only a little more than 14 kilos, but has more than 8 Inches of travel :-) | | Bottom Line: | I was not sure if this fork will be as good as the last years Boxxer WC (a fork, that did not convince me with it´s performance), because it is the first boxxer that lacks an open bath lubrication (it has only a small amount of oil in the lower legs) and it features an air spring.Over years I was fooled by magazines that an air spring never could be better tan an coli spring. I was totally wrong - now I´m totally convinced of it. This is by far the best fork I have ever ridden. It has an unbeliveable lively feeling compared to the last year model. The damping ist by far much better and even the air spring is by far the best spring system I have tested until now.It has an complete bottomless feeling. I could not belive it on myself, before I first hit the trail with it.Until this time the rear suspension of my bike (Santa Cruz Vp Free,Vpp System) peformed noticeably better than my front end. After installing this fork the situation changed dramaticaly. Now i´m desperately searching for a rear shock that will match this astonishing fork (my Fox dhx5 air and dhx5 coil arn´t good enough!).With this Fork i have the first time the feeling of real supesion on my bike, a suspesion that really has this cussioned feeling i´m expeting from a suspension-system since I first rode a fullsuspension bike. What might be interessting for You: I use it not only for downhilling and freeriding , but even for overall, more Enduro Style- riding. In fact this Fork ist a really good climber, the great damping makes this possible. I will take it for an Freeride alps-cross next Year! The only really downside of this Fork is the price, but fortunatly I have found a store here in Europe that sells it for a really good price. The other thing is, that I have the feeling, that the colour is less durable than on the last Years WC model or on my Fox 40R I would give 10 Chilis for this great product if it would be possible. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Gosford Date Reviewed: October 25, 2005 | | Favoriate Trail: | old bathurst road | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | over the short period i have owned these forks i have punnished them but to there credit i cant find faul. they are a solid fork with very little flex and comming from down OZ where the trails are very rocky and techo i feel this fork excells over the likes of the 888 and dare i say it the Dorado. They are super resonsive and feel super smooth over rocky offcamber trails. the air chamber is great for differant terain and race tracks unlike the other forks on the market you can adjust to suit.. | | Weaknesses: | none found yet | | Similar Products Used: | 2004 boxxers 2004 super t pros and 2005 888 | | Bike Setup: | santacruz VP Free "say no more" | | Bottom Line: | these are the most adjustable and most advanced fork on the market not just for racing and downhill but everyday riding for the every day rider. you can tune them at the drop of a hat, ride then in any situation on any track they are a light and responsive fork.
everyone should own a pair.. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
