The DUC utilizes an internally butted hollow welded upper “H” section with a top-clamp that features an integrated stem. Now add an ultralight 8mm hollow steerer shaft, our proprietary 24/7 front hub, a Climbing Mode that drops the fork 2”, inverted fork technology that bathes the seals in oil. Adjustable features include rebound, air pressure, oil volume and viscosity.

Strengths:
The bottom line is they're a work of art to look at but far more importantly they're super light yet feel bullet proof when the ground drops away. Buy them, and buy them now!!
Weaknesses:
cables rubbing through the fork, mine left a deep and lasting impression in 2 places before I realised and added some protection. Be careful which tyres you use on these forks. The manual said upto 2.4's can be used but after a heavy day on the Cwm down uplift at Cwm Carn i noticed my Panaracer 2.4 firetrails had scored thru to the metal where the top of the tyre rubbed the top of the crown. Lastly with the negatives...The two rubber slug-looking protectors stopping the forks from nudging the frame will part company with the cheap adhesive they use. I noticed one coming off so I peeled them both off and used a stronger glue to, er, glue them on... since then no probs.

Bottom Line:
My regular trail is through the forests of Epping so it's basically used for XC in the week. Come the weekend I swap out the stock rubber (Conti' verts') for Panracer fire 2.4 knobbly fcukers & I head for the downhills of Afan and Cwn Carn. These forks just cope with everything including a sketchy nose heavy landing off a 4' drop off. These muthers just soak it all up and are light enough to climb back up to the top. on the climbing front you can dial them right down to about 1" travel but do not...i repeat do not.. forget to dial them back to 6" when you start your decent or you will end up as a greasy smear on the mountainside.

Strengths:
The most important thing is that they are super light for the travel (which is fully achievable). The next key thing is the ability to drop ride height to 4" with a very quick and easy to reach/use dial on the top of the right fork leg. Being "triple crown" forks (in style) this control is right up by the handlebars so there is no need to have to reach down or have some weak cable operated setup.
With the height thing in mind it is also fantastic that they don't actually lockout, but go a lot stiffer, so you still have a degree of shock absorbsion.
Weaknesses:
can make interesting noises especially when running with a reduced height although it doesn't affect the operation of the forks.

Bottom Line:
I went from running the Fox's to the mavericks and haven't looked back. Admittedly the fox forks are probably a lot tougher if you are into pushing the limits of your bike, but I prefer having a plush ride that can go uphills as quick as it can go down. This is where the mavericks are in a different league to the fox's. Saying that though I am 240lb in weight and the mavericks can comfortably take what ever I throw at them.
