Strengths:Bullet Proof! Bottomless ! Looks Sick! High speed compresion rules.super stiff crown and stantions. No Maintanance.Just ride it as hard as you can Mud/snow whatever This Fork Kicks ASS!
180 MM of Life saving pleasure. Blows doors on fox 36.
Weaknesses:None Really. but the only knock I could think of is the compression and rebound caps come loose and fly off like others have said. Check your knob and caps before each ride.
A little bit of a weight penalty but it's worth it for the ride.

I have an 07 66RC2 with over 200 hours of fast riding and no problems/easy set up/.Pick up an 07 on clearance if you can the 08 are made in Taiwan and I have heard there may be some quality control issues. Strengths:Solid, absolutely more adjustable than a motocross fork. Marzocchi maintains forks that can be adjusted with air/oil volume instead of a fixed damper that only the supplier can tweak. Big Bonus.
Weaknesses:on the heavy side, see strengths.
I'm torn about leaving a weakness, because it's really not.
The bottom out adjustment I'm sure could be handled by oil/air volume, but not by weenies. So RC would be enough.
Similar Products Used:06 Fox 36 Talas R, 04 Marzocchi Z1 Freeride, SIDS, Dukes, Manitou (never again).
Bike Setup:Extreme Freeride 2006 Morewood LT 7 inch travel.
Bottom Line:The adjustability of this fork made it possible to dial in the subtle little bump absorbing spring action that I wanted, and also the progressive big drop absorbing action to keep my arms from buckling on hard hits.
It saved my a$$ at least once.
I haven't dropped even close to something that felt big by this fork standard, but I will. It moved up the bar for what is big...big time. 7 feet is nothing, 12 to 15 might get it's attention.
The drops I've done were butter smooth landings.
I knew I was getting into more weight over the TALAS, but it has paid off in spades. The TALAS R did not adjust out the big drops that made my arms buckle. Air just doesn't provide smooth active ripple absorption, and hard hit progressive action. That said, I have not had the more adjustable air forks, but hope to try them some day.
This fork will do everything. I had it on a light weight Giant REign, and raced it around just fine, but could still do drops. (I don't recommend the fork for XC, I just bought a Z1 for that). Springs are king.

Strengths:Mine is a late year 06 with 180mm travel. I rode this baby at Northstar on their closing weekend in the snow and cakey mud and it performed flawlessly, cleaned off wipers and they looked as good as new. I forgot I was riding a single crown. stiff no flex like the old shivers, scratched against a rock and the scratch didn't make it past the primer
Weaknesses:Lost big red compression cap first ride out ... no worries found 2 at Whistler, some knocking sound in the rebound at fast speeds didn't affect performance
Similar Products Used:66 sl, fox40, dorado, sherman breakout plus,

Bottom Line:This fork is something else for handling a harsh weekend @ northstar. I had some problems figuring out how to set up fork because it was so stiff at first (not much air pressure needed) which ends up being an advantage to heavier guys like myself..more room for stiffing with out having to buy a heavier spring. I haven't hucked this fork any higher than 6 ft. but I did my 07 66 sl and it took 10ft like a champ. This fork is burley as hell!!!

    Purchased At:jensonUSA
Strengths:color, stickers, weight, hight, travle, adjustment, everything on this fork is dialed.
Weaknesses:something wrong with mine*, but its not noticable when sitting on the bike so i dont care. the rebound nob on mine takes 2 fingers to turn and not much grip, i am going to grind it up with a file or something for more grip when i have some time. the air valve caps are either insanely loose or insanely tight. going to put some loctite aswell. these do not compromise the ride.
    Similar Products Used:marzocchi z1, 66rc, 888vf2, 66vf, pike454 dual air.
Bike Setup:commencal mini dh, hadley, m6ti, thomson, diabolus, xt, xtr, 105, saint, e.13 drs, swinger 4way air, slr xp, mtx,
Bottom Line:* the thing i said that is wrong with mine is weird and i've been told its the bushings. when im not siting on the bike and the wheel is on the ground, and i pull up on one grip and push on the other back and forth i can feel a little jolt. it feels like there is 1mm of play deep inside the fork. cant tell when your on the bike at all, i found this out when i was putting the fork on the bike otherwise i wouldn't have ever noticed. i have taken out the spring on the rebound side because im 140lbs and wanted this fork for soaking up everything small, because im tall enough to be able to soak up the big stuff with my body. the fact this fork was so cheap on the internet is a major bonus. i have used the vf2 and it was just fine but then i saw this for the same price and had to get it. i set the fork up to match my shock, a 4way air, and use the slow speed compression if theres lots of pedalling involved, it works well to eliminate bobbing. the X is for big hits and doing huge drops with the X closed i come 1 inch from bottoming all the times. this fork has a wide range of adjustments.

    Similar Products Used:manitou, fox
    Bike Setup:haro x3, 66, 5th element 5way, hayes 9's
Bottom Line:great fork, can adjust many ways. sometimes the bottem out(end of travel) compression doesnt allow for full travel at all times. sweet fork though, long travel in single crown allows for tricks and better steering. the adjustments for low speed compresion work great, you can really feel the difference in the ride. as well as with the adjustments made to the bottem out knobber. takes up the little and big bumps. also can take the massive hits without bottoming, if set up for it. sweet fork...

Bottom Line:The Teocali is a great all round bike after watching mates with big dwn hill bikes strugle on singer tracks and labour up hill i decided to stick with it and save $$ by upgrading components rather than being seduced into anexpensive heavy bike . The 66RC2X have turned a good bike into a friken awesome bike tracks I have used before I am now doing 25=30 % higher speed and making drops I was strugling with with the Manitou's I cannot give them enough praise
dont hesitate if you are thinking of buying them bought them from "bikeangel" ebay store they arrived in a week from the USA to Australia and saved me 50% on retail here , great dealer helpful emails polite and sells great products.-
If the '06- RC2X is this good with 170mm travel the '07 -180mm must be crazy good, why put triple clamps on and reduce manuverability and increase weight when you can get as good if not better with a single crown

Strengths:Strong as hell single crown forks with much adjustibility. They're 30mm shorter than the 05 models, meaning that they fitted my frame better and didn't over-slacken my head-angle.
    Weaknesses:none
    Similar Products Used:manitou stance
    Bike Setup:trek session 7
Bottom Line:These fork's instantly made my bike much more ridable. I've put more air in the legs than is suggested for a rider of my weight, and as a result they are super stiff and good for dirt jumping and general thrashing, but also able soak up the rougher hits if need be. The travel is nice and progresive, unlike my manitou's with would dive during braking, jumping, landing, etc (which caused one particularly nasty head first over the handle-bars crash on a local dual slalom run). These new 66's cost twice as much as my old manitou's, but believe me, the 66's are more than twice as effective. Bottom line is: A bit heavy for x.c, but great for d.h, f.r, d.j. and so on. If you want the real deal, and need some serious metal up front - buy these. You'll get what you pay for.

I was worried about this as I climb all the local hills I decend. with the "X" compression adjustment, I am able to keep the shock extra soft and still have that bottom out prevention for those missed trannies. As I have only been out 6 times I will update in 6 months. Make sure you check all those adjustment knobs for security. This is a good fork for freeriders and dirt jumpers.I love the low ride height know I can ride up and bomb down like never befo
