$250.00 | | Purchased At: | jenson | | Strengths: | stiff with 20mm axle, long lasting no maintenance, pedictable, stays strong so far. | | Weaknesses: | not much for rebound damping. cheaper fork and you know it. clicks a lil', sqwishy sound a lil' | | Similar Products Used: | 66vf | | Bike Setup: | 06 specialized enduro frankenstien build for all mtn/ freerider, can climb but not favoring it . | | Bottom Line: | this "cheapo" version z1 w/no adjustment just keeps working and i'm not bummed on it. super pogo stick out of the box. read some reviews then took a spring out of one side, adjusted air preload to 5/6 or so lbs on one side, zero on the other and have'nt touched it since, i think. can't remember. does'nt matter though, dats da kine i like. set it, forget it. i weigh about 170lbs and normally dont hold back. this fork works gr8 everytime.have only bottomout its 130mm couple times landing flat over some gap jumps, but hardly ever. sick buy for the price. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$289.00 | | Purchased At: | Price Point | | Strengths: | Everything. It feels super plush on the drops and smoothes out rough landings. I hit some big drops with it (10 footers) and it feels great. Its lack of adjustablility is ok, because its already set up perfectly for 99% of riders out there. | | Weaknesses: | I can't think of any. I guess the only problem i have with it is there are small air bubbles under the stickers. | | Similar Products Used: | Marzocchi 66, Super T, Fox 36 | | Bike Setup: | Mongoose Black Diamond with Marzocchi Z1 FR III and lots of upgrades | | Bottom Line: | The best long travel freeride fork under the sun. I have done some big stuff with it and it still feels brand new. Buy one, you WON'T be dissapointed! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$225.00 | | Strengths: | looks nice, 150 mm of travel, air preload adjust. Good internals. Very plush. Great for dirt jumping and freeride. | | Weaknesses: | MINE BROKE! The disc brake mounts snapped right off!!! Seems a little flexy too. | | Similar Products Used: | stance, dirt jumpers, 888... | | Bike Setup: | Trek Bruiser 2 | | Bottom Line: | Today, my Z1 Fr 3 snapped at the mounts. I'm really annoyed right now, because I've had the fork for about 6 months, but I've only been riding it for 3! It shouldn't have broken so easily! I didn't crash or anything. I wasn't extra hard on this fork - I didn't even dirt jump! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$280.00 | | Purchased At: | Jenson | | Strengths: | Price. Out of the box feel. 6in Thru axle. Lack of adjustment meaningless cause this fork feels good as is with my set up. | | Weaknesses: | Stickers. | | Similar Products Used: | Fox Vanillas RLC 100 & R130, RockShox | | Bike Setup: | Weyless 67 03 Frame: Zocchi Z1-05,King Hd set, Monkey bar, Avid mechs 7in, RockShox Pro Deluxe, LX cranks, xt r-derailer lx front, Deore shifters, rear hope xc hub Zocchi TA front, Sun Mammoth rear and rhynolite front, Gaz dual on front Motoraptor on back. | | Bottom Line: | I weigh 220 add 15lbs for the pack, so 235 on the bike and the fork feels great. This is my first Zocchi. I haven't made any changes to it not that there is much you can adjust.
I had a Fox Vanilla R130 before with the stiffest spring. Lots of brake dive with that fork. Stand up an pound boing boing. The Zocchi doesn't have that. Plush enough for me, nothing plusher than Fox, but firm enough so brake dive and bounce isn't a problem.
I didn't think 1 inch in travel would make such a difference but I go thru and over alot more stuff readily.
Does take a couple of good rides to break in. I've taking this fork over drops and thru rock gardens, big roots. No bottoming out and this is with no air added. This is a good barebone fork for an incredible price. Its like it was built just for me, no adjustment required. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$225.00 | | Purchased At: | Pinkbike | | Strengths: | Nice. It's all black. 150 mm of travel. Better internals than many forks. 20 mm axle. Softens the ride up a lot. | | Weaknesses: | Mine seems flexy. Not very adjustable. | | Similar Products Used: | Marzocchi Dirt Jumper series, Stance flow... | | Bike Setup: | Trek Bruiser 2 with a lot of new components. | | Bottom Line: | Very nice fork for the price. It makes drops very easy on a hardtail, like going off of curbs. Much better than my old MZ-comp. I havent bottomed it yet! the most I've had out of it's 150 mm of travel is about 140(on a 6 foot drop, and I nose dived)! Great fork. Best freeride fork at this price range. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$289.00 | | Purchased At: | JensonUSA | | Strengths: | Buttery smooth, Air preload, I weigh 230 and have yet to bottom it out, stiff, 20mm thru-axle. 6" single crown for less than 300 with the Zoke name to back it up!! | | Weaknesses: | Damn Jenson has the 66 for $299 only a few months after I get the Z1. Spring makes an annoying "scruntch" sound when compressing. | | Similar Products Used: | Judy TT, Manitou sherman firefly | | Bike Setup: | Z1 fork, Azonic outlaws, E-13 SRS, Diabolus bars, holzfeller stem Raceface evolve DH cranks, sun-ringle ZuZu pedals, demolition BMX seat, yada yada, yada. | | Bottom Line: | Want a minimalists (no bells and whistles like ETA) fork for light to moderate freeride...aka u can't afford a 66 or Fox 36...this is the fork for you. I was afraid that the fork would be a little big for the frame (medium), but the fork actually fits the bike pretty good. All of this talk about the ideal DJ/urban fork being 100mm is a load of sh!t. The Z1 has been perfect for DJ/urban riding and with the extra travel you can even do some nice drops! If you want to put the pedal to the metal, the fork doesn't bounce up and down because of the air preload. Basically a fork even at this length is still a good dj fork. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

if the springs are too stiff, simply remove one. that's what marzocchi told me to do. left or right... it dosn't matter. to slow the rebound change the fork oil to a higher weight. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$280.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | Typical Marzocchi heavy duty quality, stiff yet very smooth and plush. Doesn't flex under hard braking | | Weaknesses: | overlooked because of the 66. | | Similar Products Used: | other Marzocchi Z1's | | Bike Setup: | Santa Cruz Bullit | | Bottom Line: | The best Z1 so far. The lack of adjustability doesn't effect the performance because it's right where I'd set it anyway. Very stiff, yet plush 150mm of travel. This may be a better alternative to the Marzocchi 66 for some because it won't slacken the head angle as much. Great fork for aggressive trail riding and freeride (without huge drops and gaps). | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I weigh about 170 lbs and the fork is pretty much perfect without any air preload. It sags about an inch so the geometry of the bike is close to stock. Its very stiff and doesn't flex like the old one. Travel is smooth and doesn't get that burnt oil on the stanchion that makes it feel like crap. I have not bottomed it out yet, and it would take a big hit to do so.
Overall, great fork for whats it meant for! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
