    Favoriate Trail:Wildside Mtb.
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Purchased At:KenSelfCycles
Strengths:Plush travel due to coil. Difficult to bottom out. Cheap.
Weaknesses:Too much flex for tracking in the rough. No rebound dampening.
    Similar Products Used:RST.
Bike Setup:Merida Matts Speed Disc. '05 (entry level XC hardtail racer)
Bottom Line:This coil sprung fork is good value for the beginner XC rider but really starts to struggle when the track gets rough. Not having rebound dampening is a real drawback when descending or rough tracking at speed as the juddering gets transfered to your hands. This makes it very tiring.
On the positive side though, you need to hit something pretty hard to bottom out yet they feel plush over the occasional lump in the trail.

    Date Reviewed: October 2, 2005
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Purchased At:Sport check
Strengths:well um.... it doesn't bottom out? Ok not too many strengths ...hmm...the colour.
Weaknesses:Almost everything: lots of maitence, no decent seals, crappy preload adjuster (broke it after two months), too stiff (compressed 1.5 inches after a 3 foot drop, all the excess force tranfered to my arms), travel varies even though DROP HEIGHT DOESN'T, clogs with dirt easily and lock up, constant maitence required, Downhill: arms were numb after going down blue mountain, freeride: doesn't take landings very well and too much rebound, XC: half decent for XC, but crappy for hills, DJ: DONT EVEN TRY WITH THIS FORK
Similar Products Used:some crappy rst, friends exr, and another friends splice.
Bike Setup:stock IH warior sport, im actually scred to ride this bike casue iv broken so many things on this bike but i haven't bothered to replace them cause it would cost less in the end to buy another better bike (probably getting p.2 or tactik)
Bottom Line:Don't get this fork unless you do simple xc trails just for fun once in a while. on second thought... DON'T GET THIS FORK!!!

Bottom Line:they suck not worth it. if u buy this bike, lose the fork get sumthin else. i still have it because im 15 and broke.

    preload adjust
    Weaknesses:none yet!

Bike Setup:Stock gt avalanche 1.0 disc 2005 model
Bottom Line:good travel(100mm) for just starting out on a real mountain bike, good overall performance, very cheap much better for me coming from a bike with only 75mm of travel.
Preload adjust works good no stiffness on turning the knob for me other guy must have already had the fork on max or min stiffness

Submitted by Jack a Cross Country Rider from Southampton
    Date Reviewed: September 2, 2005
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Purchased At:leisure lakes bikes
Strengths:great for a person who is just getting into riding (like me) not expensive so you dont have to worry about seriously hurting your wallet aswell as yourself when you hit a big tree or a wall at speed, ok for some small jumps and drops
Weaknesses:sometimes the fork gets jammed if you bottom it out but this usually rights itself soon, very poor low speed damping, no good once you progress into intermediate ridoin or racing
Similar Products Used:SR suntours and tried but not owned fox float RLC while on holiday in morzine (10000000 times better)
Bike Setup:2005 GT avalanche 0.0, hope mono m4s, Race face evolve XC cranks
Bottom Line:great fork for beginner, just upgrade as you progress or plan to race, but because of ther price that aint a problem

Submitted by Denis a Cross Country Rider from Vancouver
    Date Reviewed: August 28, 2005
    Favoriate Trail:Watershed
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Solid crown, good paint, looks good, works well.
Weaknesses:Decals easy to peel off, not a concern of mine but some are anal about decals. preload knob stiff
Similar Products Used:RS Psylo, Marzo EXR, Dj3, Z1 Wedge.
Bike Setup:05 Iron Horse Warrior Sport, deore Octalink cranks, PC99 chain, lx FD the rest stock.
Bottom Line:I've only used this fork a few times but I'm impressed with it so far. the spring in it is very stiff which is good for me being im 240 6'1 and makes for a good solid fork. The preload knob is very stiff and if you dont have the strength to turn by hand you could break it using pliers etc.
The fork is not plush over little roots etc but its no concern for me. I'd rather have it stiff like it is for when i need to brake hard the bike doesnt dive to the point where you're over the bars. Got to give this fork 5 flammin turds for value and 4 for overall because of stiff knob.

    Date Reviewed: June 14, 2005
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $799.00
Purchased At:mebourne bicycle centre with the whole bike
Strengths:Seems responsive with small shock, looks professional
Weaknesses:seems to only allow 50mm travel
    Bike Setup:GT avalanche 1.0 disc
Bottom Line:it is good for a weekend rider, not for a serious downhill or more severe jumping. it is worth it value, but it is definitely not one of the best one.

    Favoriate Trail:Crumpit Woods Squamish
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $75.00
    Purchased At:EBay
Strengths:This shock has good control overall, and its good for going over tree roots.
Weaknesses:It gets stiff after awhile, so you always have to take if off a drop or something.
Similar Products Used:RST shock, Rock Shox SID
    Bike Setup:not sure..............
Bottom Line:This shock is very good for people who ride the weekends and have an intermediate trail near to where they live, where it would be good to get used to it. If you weight a lot, you should definetly get this shock due to its coil. If you don't weight that much, this shock is still good, but you might just have to work it for a few minutes. Overall, this shock deserves a 8.75/10
This shock is also cheap, cheap, cheap!!!!!
