This fork soaks it all up. can take good sized drops | | Weaknesses: | Weight, but I'm just saying this cause this is my first non-x country fork. Sucks to ascend | | Similar Products Used: | Giant Rainier with a Manitou Axel | | Bike Setup: | 2004 Junior T, P.2, Bontrager big Earl rims. | | Bottom Line: | This is a really great fork to do some freeriding, jumps and drops. The other day I messed up a drop and nose dove three feet straight down, this fork sucked up the impact and I didn't even fall off the bike. This fork gives me confidence to try the things that I never would have tried before. I got this fork on a 04 p.2 for 350 total so for me this was a great deal. Im actually getting a longer travel fork for my xc bike now because I like this ride so much better. If you can find it cheap like I did this is a great fork and something I'm very happy I got. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$345.00 | | Purchased At: | JensonUSA | | Strengths: | The fork handles it self very well while doing trail riding. It is very composed and you generally feel under control. It holds its line well and is stiff. Very plush. | | Weaknesses: | Listen to everyone when they say is comes soft and fast, ad it does make a little kind of thudding noise when you go over stutter bumbs. The fork comes soft, and the rebound is super fast. It dives a lot under hard braking | | Similar Products Used: | 888, Shiver DC, DJ 2
| | Bike Setup: | 04 Specialized BigHit, Maxxis rubber, um a Jr. T, and a chrome bell. | | Bottom Line: | A good fork for the money. You just have to make it stiffer unless you weigh like 100 lbs. Also the rebound is very fast. It is otherwise good. Obviously the 888 is about 888 times better, but it also costs a lot more. This fork is perfect for a freerider on a budjet looking to upgrade from a bad stock fork. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

For the casual downhill/freerider if offers premium performance and very low maintenace at a great price. There have only been a couple times that I bottomed out, and it was not harsh. I have taken some 10' drops on them with no complaints.
I am 5'8", 170lbs.
This fork is great for the price I paid. If you are a serious downhiller, you will probably not be reading reviews on this fork. If you do some downhill along with freeride this fork is a bargain.

$150.00 | | Strengths: | Strong, looks good, reliable | | Weaknesses: | have to change oil, no adjustment !!!, noisy | | Similar Products Used: | drop-off triple | | Bike Setup: | Kona Stinky 2004 | | Bottom Line: | The fork is ok, I swapped from drop-off triple which came stock no my Stinky 2004, I didn`t like the noise it was making and had a good deal on the JrT, that`s why I have. But I would definitely NOT spend the extra dough (too expensive in Poland)on the JrT which is very similar to drop-off triple in many ways. It just has 1 inch more travel and is better made (quality is visible). The internals are similar though not the same and the fork works different than the triple. In JrT you dont need a pump, just have the knobs to change the stiffness of the springs (if you like turning and turning and turning...) But for me the spring could be even softer - I weigh 75 kilos. The other thing is the oil which comes stock - 7.5 makes the rebound way too fast. I now have 10W and is still too fast, unless I ride in 0 temperatures or lower. I`m planning to add some 20w to mix with the 10w or change to 15w. That should be fine. All in all the fork is very good and I like it more than the Triple. It`s heavy but should take the beating, I guess. I give 4 chillies because there are already such forx as 66 or 888 in similar price range and way better. But I demand anything better. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
