Strengths: I build bike for a living and the Viper X is one of the simplest bikes there is, but it is also one of the favorets!!! All the parts on this bike are very good quality. Not like Iron Horse, Columbia & K2 (all the same company) these other companies put some really cheap crappy parts on their bikes. Dimondback is pretty good with putting good quality stuff on their bikes. I have the Viper X in Red the 2006 version. I hooked it up with some crome pegs in the back, new shiny steel chain, road/ramp tires and I put some cool dice caps on my tire tube valves. I bought this bike just to cruse around in the city (NYC) and to do some like tricks. This bike is very sexy looking (especialy in red!!) and it is made extremly well.
Weaknesses: Front standard rim will not support pegs unless you get a longer rod.
Similar Products Tried: Dimondback Skindog, IronHorse Stomp, Mongoose Over drive, GT Compe
Bike Setup: Very easy! This is a very simple bike, not much to it!
Bottom Line: I love the bike!! The way it looks, rides & feels. I've taken this bike at very high speeds and it is very stable!! Very flashy, alot of people coment on the bike looking very very nice! (THIS BIKE IS MUCH NICER IN THE RED COLOR!!!)

Strengths: Brake system, double lines with the DC amplifier, factory wellgo platform pedals, nice seat
Weaknesses: 1 Piece crank, brake lever, factory Kenda tires, IT IS NOT THAT LIGHT, ultra wide handlebars
Similar Products Tried: GT Mach One,Interceptor
      Dyno VFR, AIR, COMPE
Next bikes along with Mongoose's crap
Bike Setup: I definitly took like 6 inches off the handlebars, Primo dirt monter tires helped out alot, and some other good stuff
Bottom Line: This is a good bike, i wouldnt race with it at all, for racing- turn to redline, fmf, and answer products. This bike is tuff, crashed big on it and the only thing that gave was tthe stupid one piece, with all of this, i am referring to the 2005 version of the viper x

Strengths: ***NOTE This is the 05 model Viper-X
      Frame.
      Light-weight.
      Great BEGINNER bike.
      Tough Chainguard.
Nice (Double wall rims I believe but don't quote me on this)
      Quiet, Silent riding.
      Crank rode nice.
I Love the wiude handle-bars, really is great for popping wheelies.
Weaknesses: Sprocket (Bent when riding which snapped the KMC Chain.)
Chain (KMC (Mainly Because of sprocket))
Tire and Tubes (They were constantly losing air as a leak, slow leak but leak right out of the dealer. Kenda comes mainly stock with all bikes)
Similar Products Tried: NEXT, Redline Recon, Schwinn, and a 16" Tri-cycle.
Bike Setup: This bike isn't really meant for Flatland or street, its more of a racing bike. I would recommend a Redline Recon or Comp for street. Its Easy to clear 4 stairs in a ride off, definately a light bike. Easy to adjust to as well. But yes, Diamondback is set up for racing.
Bottom Line: I only gave this bike mainly because of the service I had received from Wheelsport, the guy had taken great care and even explained to me about the bike in great detail. I was really disappointed in Diamondback because I hear great things about the bikes, but it was a little scuffed up from handling and the Chain mainly only snapped because the back wheel was lodged tight enough which was my fault for not checking. I would go either with this bike, or Redline Recon, for a little more money, you get the thicker axels, bolt on pegs, Its great. (The Redline Recon, not diamondback.

Strengths: Strong Frame, looks cool, dirt cheap, very tough, very sturdy parts(exept for stock air tubes). All around Exellent bike.
Weaknesses: So far none but mine came with some CRAPPY air tubes.(kenda tires)

Front tube bew out after one day of use
Rear tube blew out right after the front one...I rode the rear stock air tube for about 20 minutes after I fixed the frondt.
Similar Products Tried: Some BMX that was thrown on my lawn at night...I think it was some kind of Mongoose.
Bottom Line: Very solid bike for your money, an exellent choice for beginners but veteran bike riders might consider a Diamnondback Orion '05.
