Strengths:this fork is ridiculously plush and whit a denser oil, it stays super sensitive and let me soak up easely 20 ft drops. the monster and super monster fork are also the burlyest suspension components i've seen that far. The incredible lenght of that fork also give the bike more clearance over the bottom bracket for asardous riding and it slackened the angles of the bike, like a 24in rear wheel would do.
Weaknesses:it is god damn heavy and make the front end of the bike dive on mid jumps (i've been able to correct this by oppening the rebound up front and closing it a little on the rear). And caution!!!!!!, you will need a rock solid head tube to avoid breaking your frame whit that.

Bottom Line:not for everyone, but for the crazy drop junky this thing is insane

Strengths:Super plush, soakes up 15ft dropps with ease. The BEST fork in the world. Oh and it looks so damn great it will kill you!
Weaknesses:Weakness? Please explain.
Similar Products Used:None, thank god!
Bike Setup:Giant ATX 1 DH. I got it off ebay with the forks attached for $200. I think the RRP is about $3000-4000.
Bottom Line:There isn't yet a word to decribe how good this bike is. I don't want to ride on the road to get to places - I want to go cross country! Basically if you are a DHer get 1. Or more!

Price Paid: $1000.00
Strengths:really long fork. sitting down going downhill or standing up going uphill, either way...the 12 inches of true travel is the only way to go...
Weaknesses:only made one production year, 2003
Similar Products Used:this is my first long travel fork, but not my last...
Bike Setup:2005 noroc team dh...5th element...super monster...nothing stock
Bottom Line:the most travel for your dollar. all you need to do is change the spring and/or oil to something heavy. with the stock setup of this fork, you will use 10 inches of the 12, just like using the 6 inches of the 8 in a 2003 Monster T... the "drop" where you used 6 inches of the Monster T, you should use only 6 inches of the Super Monster...

Strengths:you can hit big drops, and they bonce pretty sweet. they look real cool and absord lots of bumps, you could probably hit a wall real fast and theys just absord it. these shocks can with stand a drop as high as my motor home to a rocky flat- wow!, they can fit any bike, they are very big and manly, they probably wont break even if a fat guy was riding they almost never need to be lubed up and it is the perfect stiffness, i really like these shocks because there called monster and thats a good drink name :) they are real good. you can hit big drops, and they bonce pretty sweet. they look real cool and absord lots of bumps, you could probably hit a wall real fast and theys just absord it. these shocks can with stand a drop as high as my motor home to a rocky flat- wow!, they can fit any bike, they are very big and manly, they probably wont break even if a fat guy was riding they almost never need to be lubed up and it is the perfect stiffness, i really like these shocks because there called monster and thats a good drink name :) they are real good.

Strengths:The toughest out there. Travel is a plus. Smooth travel through its twelve inches. The shock can save you in what would be a crash. Its height makes for a great head tube angle.
Weaknesses:Just like all shocks it came with soft springs for a lighter rider. I weigh 230 pounds and can easily bottom any fork including this one. It will not flex so that is not a problem. I still need to buy a heavier spring.
Similar Products Used:RockShox boxxer, Manitou Sherman
Bike Setup:Ellsworth Dare, Super Monster, Hadley hubs, Shimano XT cranks, Syncros handle bar and seatpost.
Bottom Line:There is not a better shock on the planet. Not for strength, travel, or performance. if you are a strong rider then weight will not hurt you. I can ride this bike up hills that most cross country bikes can't make. It may be a bit much for a light rider, but downhillers shouldn't worry about weight anyway.

Favorite Trail:Bullet
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $455.00
Purchased At:Through my connections
Strengths:This shock has some major travel. It makes 10 foot drops seem like cake. It gave me so much confidence in my riding that I now hold the record for one of my local downhill trails.
Weaknesses:Very espensive, and very heavy.
Similar Products Used:Nothing compares to this shock.
Bike Setup:I took a Trek Liquid 30 and put a little work into it. I modified the rear shock to a 6-incher with a lockout (don't try this, it is very difficult and it can end up costing a lot of money), It made the 8 inches of travel fit much better with my bike. The whole set-up weighs about 41 lbs. And if you're wondering, I did trick it out with some of the lightest components on the market. If you feel like doing anything like this, make sure you don't use light-weight components that might take some stress when hitting the huge drops (I broke one of my cranks because of that).
Bottom Line:If you don't mind the extra weight and a little bobbing in the ride, this shock is great. All of its travel jsut soaks up everything from little bumps to huge drops. It is a great fork for an extreme downhiller with some money.

Strengths:Super soft landings from big drops, the choppper feel keeps me from going over the bars.An excellent fork for bigger guys, hard to bottom out.
Weaknesses:Weight, long lower stantions hit just missed rocks
Similar Products Used:Dorado, super-t pro, fox
Bike Setup:Intense M-1, T.H.E. rims (suck for changing tires)thompson, easton,909's, mrp, all the other
Bottom Line:This fork increases your boys size, I went out looking for big drops with flat botoms to go off just to try to bottom it out. 8-inch straight bolt on with out an adapter is nice. The only thing to get use to is that my bike rides like a chopper on the flats, weights 52lbs., and I dont need to ride back over the rear wheel as far when dropping the steeps. Excellent big guy fork not for Faint hearted 165 pounders and XC.

Strengths:I dont know what both these guys are talking about, but this fork is the bomb....12 inches of travel, thats all i have to say. Super tuning capability.....
Weaknesses:A bit heavy, but weight doesnt bother you when your going downhill, it makes you go down faster.
Similar Products Used:Monster T.,Shiver, DH3, Boxxer, Dorado, Jr T.
Bike Setup:Karpiel Armageddon, Doublewides, Raceface, Super Monster
Bottom Line:The bottom line is that this fork is the baddest fork in the market. Could'nt get any better than this....
