Very stiff and very light. When new they were the best wheels I ever owned.


Simply not a realistic option for an the average joe that doesn't have a top notch mechanic with him at all time.

The rear wheel got completely loose within 10 days of riding. I brought the set to a shop and they completely ruined the spokes by wrenching without using a bladed spoke holder: all the spokes ended up looking like a corckscrew... the mechanic told me that the spokes were ceased onto the nipples and it wasn't possible to do otherwise. He mentioned that I might be able to get the set warrantied, which is what happened. The Canadian distributor exchanged them no question asked. I was stoked and rode them again...

10 rides later, same thing with the rear wheel. OK I ride them hard, but these wheels are sold as an enduro set.Last year I rode the same way all season long with a set of Spank Oozy (which are XC wheels) and they did not get out of true once!

Now I bring them to another bike shop in whistler that is supposed to be top notch, I mention that the spokes need to be held and that the nipples are fragile alloy versions... when I get my wheel back half of the nipples are stripped, and the spokes are all loose. The guy is like "yeah man with these gucci wheels it's very hard to true and those nipples are so weak etc etc...". After a few days off the bike I bring the wheels to another shop again. The mechanic gives it a try and after 30 seconds comes back to me and tells me that those nipples really are weak and that my best bet is to just take them all out and replace them with brass versions...

So in conclusion, yeah they are awesome and yeah a top notch mechanic might be able to fix them, but I have found no one in Vancouver BC, North Van or Whistler that could fix them properly and these places see a lot of bike being repaired and the mechanics are all supposed to be very good. But for a regular person who wants to ride his bike they just don't work. And for that kind of price I expect way more from them. 2 chillis overall because yeah at first they ride like a dream, but the dream turns into a nightmare very quickly. They just don't hold up to all-mountain use.
