Strength:

~Spin up is quick
~Extruded Scandium is excellent rim material
~28 eyeletted spokes
~FCC(Fisher Control Column) 15mm thru-axle front hub is stiff
~Rear 142mm x 12mm hub is SOLID and remains true in XC/Trail use
~Acceptable, 19mm inner rim width
~TLR rim strips and OEM valves are superior to NoTubes tape and stems
~Racy graphics, with white spokes(2012 version)

Weakness:

~Slow rear hub engagement
~Wheelset weighs 2008g(no skewers)
~Not made in USA?

This was the OEM wheelset of my Superfly 100 Pro(2012). Honestly, I simply cannot find fault of these wheels. They spin-up fast and retain momentum amazingly well. This is mainly due to the wheelset's bulk, rotating mass being centered at the hubs, mitigating the spinning heft at "ground zero." The Scandium hoops alone are actually under 400g each. Even with 28 white DT Swiss spokes per wheel - they roll with absolute authority and speed over baby-head sized rocks, making them feel like frozen peas and carrots.

Combined with OEM Bontrager 2.25 29er tires - the RXL wheels still corner exceedingly well. If you can bear the DT Swiss-like freehub buzz - this wheelset is actually an under-rated bargain. You will not have to true these wheels very often....if any, at all. I ride the rocky, dry deserts of Southern California, with steep climbs and rough technical terrain that would KILL most wheels.....and the Bontrager RXL takes it all like a BOSS. They are excellent interim hoops, while I save up for my carbon 29er wheels.
