Strength:

specialized makes great tires

Weakness:

the weight for this tire is way off

Just purchased this tire in the 2.4 size and on specialized website it says the tire was approx. 680 grams
put it on two different scales it weights 905grams! thats not approx!

Strength:

Rigid sidewalls, fast rolling and great traction on hardpack, loose dirt, tree roots rock gardens. PERFECT seal first time- no sealent needed (recommended though)

Weakness:

Expensive and probably not suited for really sticky, muddy conditions (but thats when you throw the Nevagals or Minions on anyway!!)

I used to just run standard tyres on tubless rims with some success but found that many tires just didn't have the sidewall strength needed without tubes. These things are in another league; firstly, they seated on the rim so well that no sealent was needed- soapy water just sat there with no bubbles! And the stiff sidewalls work a treat. Traction is amazing on most surfaces and they have a similar rolling style to maxxis Ardents but feel more secure in the corners. They don't seem to mind sharp rocks and the treads havn't torn like the highrollers had a tendency to do. THey seem to work great on the front and the rear too. A great tire, if slightly more expensive than the competition.

Strength:

Stiff Casing,Slash protection,reasonably light,good hook -up,same weight as 2.3 s-works eskar

Weakness:

not full 2.2 wide

Got tired of trashing sidewalls on tires that were still good.Ct rocks are sharp.Always converted to tubeless so no good when cut. Right away I was amazed by the stiffness of these casings.Directional control is great.Traction is great .Roll very well compared to eskars or nevegals.I was worried there wasn`t going to be good compliance. I was wrong,I`m able to put front down to 25 ,rear 27 and there`s no rolling or burping and haven`t heard rim smacks.Though not cheap ,I`m glad I tried these rather than heavier downhill type tires.Might try the 2.4 up front.

Strength:

Fairly Fast Rolling, Solid side wall, great in braking and cornering.

Weakness:

a little heavy but i can live with that.

very good for a stock tire, handles the hardpack quite good still yet to try them tubeless. these hook up quite good in the corners and combines with the specialized The Captain on the rear they roll pretty good, but not as good as my SB8 and Larsen on my xc rigs but thats understandable.

Strength:

Faster than my Spec pro's and grip well. No complaints yet other than a slow leak I noticed the next day on the back wheel

Weakness:

I got a flat the first time out (slow leak) but aired it back up and still holding air.

So far so good going to go out today and beat on them some more.

Strength:

Good grip, fast rolling, 2bliss, light weight.

Weakness:

None yet

I mounted this up on the rear of my bike with a 2.3 eskar in the front. I decided that the nevegals were just too slow for me. The tire rolls fast, brakes effectively, and seems to corner well. Its a solid performing trail / light AM tire. If the tire holds up well it will be a worthwhile investment.
