Continental Latex Tubes Tube

Drop the Continental 26-inch tubes into your mountain, commuter, or hybrid bike, and get riding. These butyl rubber tubes hold air so you roll fast, and don't destroy your tires. Try to avoid sharp objects in your path, because changing flats is never fun.

Strength:

Low weight, runs fast

Weakness:

personal doubts about safety, s.b.

Hi freaks,
got a hot one for you. I was hitherto rather happy with Conti tires and tubes. Two days ago my front wheel suddenly lost pressure while going 25 mph on smooth surface; and I went down to ground like a gomer. Having assembled my own limbs I inspected the damage on the front wheel. Rim band in order, no loose spokes (wheels were done by Andi at Rabe/Munich, so no fuzzy questions there), tire (Ritchey Z-Max 2,35 Millenium) o.k. The tube went ffftt on the inner rim side, just lacerated for a quart of an inch. Admitted, the tubes are certified only to 2,3 inch tires, and the Ritchey is slightly above that. But still, that leaves one massaging the bean a bit (on the parts that don't hurt,at least). No problems with the Greenlights till now, though this should be the even more fragile tube, going by weight.

Strength:

What strengths?

Weakness:

Blowouts, very unpredictable

After reading some of reviews I was not sure if I should buy them.
I did and it was a mistake. Well some people don’t have problems
with blowouts and flats, I did. 3 or 4 months and 4 tubs in a trash
of which one was still good but I did not want to take any chances
after a blowout of rear one while going down hill which resulted in ruining
a rear tire and a rim. Riding with those tubs for three months cost me about
a $ 160.

Strength:

Never had a puncture in six months!

Weakness:

Very expensive.
They could be lighter.

If you are interest in durability and low maintenance go with this.
If you're looking for price and lighter product try vittoria latex or Ritchey.
Anyway my wheels are nail proof with these tubes!

Strength:

very light, durable, flat resistent,

Weakness:

weight not reproducable (100-140g for individual tubes)

latex tubes increase the quality of your ride, u have to try it, if you have not ridden them you wont believe

Bottom line: althought i hate latex elsewhere, for bike tubes that rubber´s great ;-)

Strength:

Extremely light.
Rolling resistance drops.
Puncture and snakebite proof, no matter what you hit

Weakness:

Its almost annoying not to fix a flat anymore, ha ha.

Most latex tubes are sh!t look at those reviews of latex tubes, but these are stupidly strong. One year has past away since i got them and still i didn't had to fix them, but now there is this other thing that's bothering me. These latex tubes are so strong that they survived several rim damage. Had to buy two new rims last year because the area around the tubes just deformed and defragmented like a bombshell, how's that hey!! Its like a dream come true. I ride some very kinky trails here and doin stairs and huge jumping of stairs and things like that(made possible because now i know i can't flatten anymore). Buy these, you wont be disappointed.
HAPPY TRAILS

.....hmmm
nice color

Weakness:

either buy a new one or fix a flat once every hour on the hour. cant take the beating id like to give them

-ever heard of robbery-
i dont know why i never had good luck with these tubes,
maybe cause they are junk. i went through about 8 id say in around 10 days of riding on them. what was i thinking. i never had anything close to this type of problem with any other tube type. i would recommend this to people that i like to see crash off of high impact landings and road cyclists-no one else though.

Strength:

Light, 130g. Flat resistant

Weakness:

Not as light as Panaracer Greenlite

I've had these tubes on for about 4 months and no flats.
When they are light as well I can't complain.

Strength:

light, fast rolling

Weakness:

blowout!

i was airing up and pow! the tube blew. upon inspection, the hole was about 1cm from the valve on the rim side--just outside the black reinforcement area around the valve.

the other tube shows stress in the same area. my rimstrips are brand new velox and are placed correctly.

i dont know what happened. all i can think of is that maybe i should have placed the valve nut on for support. (torellis valves are not threaded, and i have never had a problem)
i promptly removed the contis, and put the torellis back on.
i havent flatted in 2 years (except for a nail rippinr straingt thru the tire/tube) on torellis.

Strength:

Extremely durable. Lightweight. Nice color? :)

Weakness:

? expensive

I've used these tubes for more than 2 racing seasons now, and this season I've just had 1 puncture. 1 i 30 races and like 7 months of training. They are as thick as cheap durable butyltubes and almost as light as the lightweigh buthyls. A perfect mix I say! Maybe nothing for you freeriders out ther but for XC/racing they are great!
