Strength:

Stiff sidewalls, no pinch flats, price, tacky rubber, traction in varied terrain. Hardpack tire? I'm not sure about that but they're awesome in the mud and on the wet logs.

Weakness:

None so far.

My bike came with the '03 Roller Pros which sucked worse than anything. Someone convinced me to try the '04 line and I'm glad I did. Specialized did a great job redesigning these tires. The '04s perform great in technical muddy sections and stick well on wet logs and rocks. They take everything I throw at them. The rubber is soft so they may wear out faster but at this price and for the traction it's worth it.

Strength:

Huge air volume (I'm running the 2.7)
Really, really light for its size (just over 800g)

Weakness:

Thin sidewalls will fold over unless you have a wide rim
Specialized doesn't make them anymore

The 2.7" is the best Moab tire ever made. Huge air volume for smacking rock ledges at speed, light enough to climb, fat knobs that grip slickrock and hardpack and don't bend on side hills. The side knobs stick out far enough to protect the sidewall, unlike some tires (*cough* IRC TRAIL BEAR).

It's OK on loose stuff, but you're better off with a tire with smaller, sharper knobs. You'll want a wide rim, because the sidewalls are light enough to let the tire fold over. Big huckers and pure DH guys will want beefier sidewalls. But for a ride like Amasa Back, they're tits.

Of course, Specialized doesn't make them anymore. Everything this year is really heavy. Grrrrrrr.

Holy crap this thing is nice! Grips like a beast and sticks likes glue. I bought this tire for half price and stuck it on my 04 Specialized Hardrock Pro. It corners better than any tire I've ever riddin. Every freerider and trail rider on the planet needs this crazy nice tire.

Strength:

grips like you won't believe

Weakness:

feels a little heavy

this is just a quick shout out for the roller tire. my buddy had one first and couldn't shut up about it. i got a deal at the lbs on it, so i gave it a shot. you won't believe how well this thing grips. it's really amazing. i was blown away. it feels like it's glued down. tulsa trials are hilly, rocky, rooty, sandy, and this tire doesn't spin through any of it. so if you're looking, grab one of these. it will feel like the best money you ever spent.
