USE Spin Stix Skewer

Spin Stix

A wheel skewer is a thing of necessity, and at the same time, a component that's a great place to add a personal touch to your bike. These USE Tula Spin Stix Titanium Road Skewers come in four anodized colors so that you can match your kit or add just a touch of dazzle to your steed. From a usage perspective, Tula Spin Stix offer more than just color options. They are a twist on the traditional quick release skewer design. The difference is that they twist to tighten, rather than using cam pressure to secure the wheel in the dropout. Righty tighty, left loosey -- it's that simple. The genius in the design is that once the skewer nut is set, all that's required to properly secure the wheel is a 3/4 turn with the aerodynamically sculpted Tula fly nut. USE Tula Spin Stix Titanium Road Skewers have CNC machined 7075 aluminum ends connected by a sturdy titanium rod. They're anodized in Black, Blue, Red, and Silver with laser etched graphics. Besides looking good, they're super light at 55 grams for the pair.

Strength:

Light weight. Cool looking and easy to use. Color choice.

Weakness:

Not sure if I would use them on a mountain bike... Would prefer stainless rod up front. I'm using it on my roadbike, a Spec. Ruby Expert.

I guess if you have a rigid MTB it's ok, but I would still prefer stainless up front. It closes and opens by unscrewing and it's easy to do and fast. So much easier than a traditional QR as I have carpal tunnel and pressing in with my hand is painful. However, I keep thinking that it would be easy for something like a trailside branch to spin them loose. Maybe I'm worrying too much. On the road bike they are awesome and don't cost an arm and a leg considering how light they are. On the MTB I use Salsa stainless.

Light, easy to use, looks

None so far

Excellent skewers, really light and easy to use. No need to fiddle with a cam then wind them off until you can get them past the dropouts, it's just one easy move - unwind the lever then twiddle the other end until it fits past the dropout.
Great design and well made - in England!
