Strength:

Really strong and look awesome

Weakness:

Heavy, and mine make a clunking noise every revolution which is bloody annoying!

Good for downhill because they are so strong, but that noise.................

Strength:

Rofl at the 85 foot dropers. Non nonchalantly hitting the 85 footers. "product good for HARDCORE crosscountry with occasional 85 foot drop". Really good rims though for my review. I have taken some 5' and ten foot drops and small simple park jumps and stuff, held up really nice. Cased a few street curbs too, not even a ding with the tubless maxxis hookworm high press combo.

Weakness:

Colorful sticker gets sun and water faded after awhile of use. Really none though.

Good rims, good price, colorful sticker.... Buy these.

Strength:

Strong.. Rock solid..... smooth ..... Look great...

Weakness:

Heavy if with the wrong tire...

horrifying to get heavy downhill tires of off, if there is a flat.. had to stop using downhill tires for regular use...

Have had them for several years... A lighter set of rims might be interesting.. However.. for jumping curbs all day.. They have held up the test of time..

Strength:

Unbelievably reliable. I never would have imagined that a rim could last this long.

Weakness:

Too strong for us mere mortals? Maybe they could make a light weight version, something like the Mavic 521 to the 321. A singletrack made slightly wider, welded, and with the superior magnesium construction would be awesome.

When I first built up my bike, I chose a 32 spoke 321 front rim for it's light weight and Mavics good rep, and a heavier 32 spoke Sun Mag 30 rear for the rims reputation for reliability. Very high quality builds on both wheels, from the same wheel builder.
After 6 months of consistent very abusive DH riding on rocky courses the 321, understandably, developed 2 cracks and a huge unfixable faltspot. The Mag on the rear however, never not once ever having been trued, looked NEW. Absolutely perfect in every dimension. Not one tiny wobble.
Besides the 321 front, I have gone through a RhinoLite, a DX-32, and a 521. But, it's been 2 years now and I AM STILL RUNNING THE SAME REAR WHEEL. The hub is totally shot, but The rim is still absolutely
perfect.
I imagine this has got to be the strongest rim for its weight on the market, SUPER reliable.

PS, I'm a DH racer, I'm interested in the strongest and the lightest. If you just want the strongest, period, look at Arrow DH's or Alex's anvil weight series of rims.

mag 30's are bombproof :|
and look madd awsomeee

Weakness:

nonee

these wheels are crazy.. they look awsome, and i cant do anything to wreck them.. my buddies made a 8 foot stepdown, and im not the greatest at them lol, so i tried to hit it and sketched out, ended up landing with the bars sideways and cracked and bent my fork to the side (2005 dirtjam comps) the only damage on the wheel was a slight.. less than 1mm warp.. but its great cause i got a new fork :D

Strength:

Sleeved seam and double eyelits make this wheel crazy strong, plus they were only $44 for both on ebay, new in the box.

Weakness:

No welded seam, only sleeved.
pretty darn heavy
nightmare to mount tires on, no fast flat repairs here

These rims are great rims, i built them myself with dt spokes and they have been very good to me. I have been trashing wheels since i started riding, but these have been holding up nicely. They stay nice and straight and have no flat spots even after repeated flat landings as i ride mostly street. My only complaints with these are that they are possibly the hardest rims i have ever mounted a tire on and that they are much heavier than my onld mavic 521's, but then again these didn't die in 2 months either.
