Price, Rolls pretty well, Not the worst engagement

Weak freehub body, heavy overall weight, stuck with centerlock brake rotors or an adapter that costs as much as the price difference to a standard hub.

I've exploded my THIRD SLX rear hub in just the last year - pretty much always happens within the first 100 miles, but it's pretty ridiculous trying to ride through rock gardens and washed out turns on what amounts to a fixie - walking the rest of the way is not much fun either.
I realize it's a parts/batch thing, a lot of 2013-2014 vintage SLX hubs have this issue, but it's a fairly simple metallurgical issue that should have simply been recalled - should be possible to NDT these things to see which are affected by that problem, and it's not like the freehub body is particularly expensive, just creates a giant hassle.

I think the underlying problem is a poor tolerance on the freehub body that allows the individual bearings to escape the bearing races and get into the hub ratchet area - this basically locks up the hub, and under much torque it will radially explode the freehub body, which will basically misalign the cassette and set it up extra-wonky.
