Strength:

It's a hub, it works and has never been touched. Pace stuff is made to last and it does.

Weakness:

They don't make them any more

The bottom line is that it just does what its designed to do without having to regrease or adjust the cones all the time. If ever any play appears just fit new cartridge bearings.

Strength:

Looks good, great tracking and very light

Weakness:

None

This is a superb front hub, it's incredibly light, weighing in at a svelte 125g without a skewer (I've got a Hope titanium skewer in mine). It marries up beautifully to the Pace RC36 Pro Class forks, with the carbon fibre body matching the fork legs. I've got mine built up with a Mavic 517 Ceramic rim and it's a great wheel.
Definitely worth considering if you want a light front wheel and aren't into disc brakes.

Shut it Steve. The Pace boys over in England make superb stuff. I only wish more people over here realised it. If Rock Shox are Ford of the sus fork world then Pace are BMW -superb engineering and function without any apparent loss of quality as a result of mass production.

Is it me or does that review below look like a thinly veild attempt at a manufacturer trying to advertise their wares. I thought MTBR is supposed to let customers review products, hey MTBR do you guys do some kind of reviewing of what gets posted here. If I'm wrong you can remove this withour a protest from me.

The Pace hub is a two part hub with a carbon fibre centre section and two 7075 flanges bonded onto each end. The hub is mega stiff under all sorts of forces (impact and high loading) and well sealed against crud & water ingretion. It comes with SKF swiss bearings that are very smoothe and have lasted over 18 months underneath my Pace MXC forks. Replacing the bearings is easy (and cheap) just remove the circlip and pull out the old ones replace with new, refit circlip, doddle. Boring at the extreme 'cos it works despite being ignored totally! Just fit and forget. All good stuff.

Strength:

bomb proof design thats lasted 10 years with virtually no maintenance front and rear hub - front carbon w. ally flanges, rear turned aluminium bearsings set in what seems to be abs plastic

Weakness:

screw on free wheel (no cassette)- maybe i need some new wheels!

what can you say about some hubs that have lasted since 1993 with minimum maintenance?
