The best hub for single speed. Durable engagement, Not as real-world heavy as bashers claim. Lubing is fairly easy once you get over the fear of uncertanty.

I use these for ss mtn biking. For some reason they loosen up every now and again. As the guy below me stated the freehubs should be made out of steel...not aluminum ESPECIALLY since CK says to only use the steel freehub body with individual cogs...duh. Lastly, now I realize these are single speed hubs, but if you want to run a couple of gears once in a while you might not want these hubs. Whether its fashion or a niche market, some people like to have 5 or 6 gears in the back and with this hub you can't do it. One would need to do a fair amount of machining to run 5 cogs on this hub because of the threading for the lockring being ON the hub instead of IN it like most manufacturers do.

Tough, durable, bomber hubs made to last a lifetime. Made in the US (imagine that). Make sure to use a CK cog or wider OR pay $$$ for the steel freehub (stupid). If you want to run a couple of gears from time to time look elsewhere.

The Fun Bolts suck. If they would have used the same bolts as the BMX hubs, you could remove the bolts and drop the wheel down and out of horizontal dropouts without removing the rear brake every time you get a flat.

Kings own website says:

"The stainless steel driveshell is also recommended when using separate, INDIVIDUAL COG gear clusters."

but for some reason they decided to design the SS hubs (which obviously use INDIVIDUAL COGS) with aluminum driveshells?

Other than the above "brainfarts" (just my personal opinion) in the design, it is an awesome hub that should last you several lifetimes.
