Strength:

Work well in loose-over-hard and rocky terrain.

Weakness:

Too square-shouldered, that is, not a rounded enough profile.

After I built my Niner WFO last year, and since it is my first 29er, I have been trying different tires to find the best 'all-arounder'. I have been looking for a relatively light-weight, durable tire with good, predictable traction and low rolling resistance, After riding a number of different brands and, in the case of the Schwalbe Nobby Nic's, shredding them, I have found this tire to have the best traction and durability, with a relatively light weight @ 724 gm each. If they had a more rounded profile they would probably have better traction in off-camber turns and I would probably have given them five Flamin' Chilis overeall. But they just don't stick that well in off-camber turns due to the square-shouldered profile. But I will say that at least they give adequate warning prior to washing out unlike the WTB Weirwolf that I replaced them with.
