Strength:

I got mine on a sale and only paid about 15 bucks for the wire bead, 60tpi, Fast Trak Sport.
This rubber is very fast in a straight line and is actually decent for hardpack.
Th workmanship, even on this budget variant, is tops! The compound is tacky enough, still not quite at Maxxis' level. The tire is accurately advertised as a 2" or 51mm.

Weakness:

Kind of flat prone, especially tubed. Watch out for shards and thorns!
At 710g for the 60tpi wire bead, it's not exactly heavy although not in the XC-lite category either.
It's not that reassuring cornering, especially when putting heft on the outside lugs; a sudden washout would come without warning.
Thread seems more worn than Maxxis' and I'm talking about the basic compounds for both. The Fast Trak is definitely a one season tire.

The Fast Trak Sport 29x2.0/51-622 wire bead measures in at 50.7mm thread width and 52mm casing width. From a labeling perspective, it is accurately described as a 2"/51mm tire.
The thread depth, mid to outer, is 2.38mm to 3.6mm. This should make for a low rolling resistance and fast accelerating tire and indeed the Fast Trak Sport behaves that way: it is an honorable XC tire that excels in the speed dept. It does not, however, offer any reassurance when attacking corners at leaner angles. I mean, the loss of traction on the outer thread could be catastrophic and, most surely, it would come without any prior warning. The tire is designed to be ridden fast and not necessarily for thrashing into corners. It's also not a tire for mud or snow, it is strictly hardpack. It can even be a brilliant commuter 29er but true MTB rubber this is not, for this reason only 2 flaming chilis overall.

Strength:

Incredible grip for a low profile knob. Very light, which comes at a price, in terms of thin sidewalls. Holds air pretty well, but keep putting Stans in every few months. Overall a very good tire in my opinion. NO tire is great at every condition, so pick your poison, in terms of any tire's weakness.

Weakness:

Burped a front tire at the min. pressure, running tubeless on my Mavic's. I'm running these on my old 09' Epic carbon 26'er. Hit the ground hard when the tire burped. That really pushed me off, so I run the pressure above 35psi routinely now. I'm pretty light too, at 160lbs., so you can't use the heavier rider excuse. Flexy sidewalls running tubeless in the rear, makes you feel like it is flat sometimes.

Great tire overall, being very light with incredible traction for a low profile knob. That lightweight comes at a price though, with Flexy sidewalls and the need to run above min. pressure if going tubeless, to ensure a good, safe bead seating.

Strength:

Fast, quiet, nice on hardpack (and roads - surprisingly).

Weakness:

Low grip level on dusty or sandy surfaces. Tires cut very easily. Sidewalls are weak.

These came on my Specialized S-Works. I think they would make a very good race tire, provided your race is on track made from pillows, feathers, and spongey foam. I can't believe how easily these tires cut, and big cuts too that Stans is not able to deal with. The Schwalbes on my old bike lasted two years without a single flat. For a tubeless tire I would expect more reliability, especially a race tire. They get two stars because when they are inflated they feel pretty good, but overall they are a huge disappointment.

Looks prototype, doesn't weigh a lot

Weakness:

The worst tire I have ever ridden on, 5 flats in two days, first ride i dry forest singletrail, second with my 8 year old son, very calm ride. Never again

Dont buy, unless staying on the pavement.

Strength:

Light weight, fast rolling on hard pack, and good traction on hardpack.

Weakness:

Very weak sidewalls, terrible on rocks, roots, and mud (so pretty much useless for mountain biking at least where I live).

I was told by a Specialized dealer that this was a superb tire that would not go flat frequently, and that was ideal for XC racing. I had heard some negative reviews about the sidewalls being weak on the tire, and asked the dealer about this, and he assured me that it would be fine. On my first race with this tire, the sidewall blew when I hit a rock (I was running tubeless)! These tires were expensive, and I was only able to use them three times. I will not buy Specialized tires again.

Strength:

Very good on paved road or paved bike trails, Good on simple, non-technical, not too steep trail and dirt.

Weakness:

Only used this summer, so full understanding may be limited. I found myself less confident and uncertain in steeper, rockier, more technical climbs. I am very tentative with these tires on downhill. Have Rocket Rons 2.25, far more confident
in downhill and varied terrain.

If you are a non-aggressive rider who may be as much road as easy dirt, this would be a good tire. I noted the benefits at 50 psi keeping closer to my '"rodie" friends and had the option to go off road. On road its smooth and fast. Off road, I feel it has limitations in climbs, more technical or handling in some unpredictable downhill ( makes me nervous). I think while I do modest balanced rides I will continue to use this. However, if I am going to do some real dirt for awhile, will swap out for my Rocket Rons.

Strength:

This tire has performed for me in variable conditions on my single speed. Particularly like the traction on loose rocky terrain - on Saturday I rode up some heinous wash out and had no problems. We are in the middle of monsoon and I find the tires handle wet roots and slick clay well. I have no complaints. Loved my Schwalbe Rocket Rons, but they were more prone to flatting out on the trail than the Fast Trak - sidewalls are a little beefier, but not by much. Overall it is good tire, although the next time around I may be in the market for something else.

Weakness:

Very wet conditions can be a little sketchy, but then again, mountain biking in the rain can be sketchy, so you kind of go with the flow and stay on top of your bike.

They work - isn't that what matters. I have ridden a lot of different tires, and they all have their good and bad qualities. If the tire works in your most common conditions then why gripe about it. The Fast Traks works, the Rocket Rons worked. I am always looking for a light, durable tire that accommodates my single speed and my OCD approach to keeping it light. I find with any tire that is tubeless, you are constantly checking the tire pressure - so it has become a habit to pull out he pump and add in 5lbs of pressure before I ride. NBD.

Strength:

Fast roller, light, good hardpack traction

Weakness:

mud, light mud, heavy mud...............any mud. Side walls

Impressed by their hardpack traction and light weight but as soon as it starts drizzling out my mountain bike ride turns into a snow sledding ice skating adventure. Once one gets used to it though, it's not bad at all and a worthwhile trade-off. The problem is that, as many other have mentioned, the sidewall strength. I ride in the sand and I still manage to slice the sidewalls, and not from pinching either. The rubber is so soft and the threads are so thin that it doesn't take much. I guess that's the price we pay for ultra light weight. I'm not sure what but I'm going to try something else.

Strength:

Rolls fast, adequate to good rear tire

Weakness:

cuts easily

The tire has worked well-enough for me as a rear, but both tires I've had have cut on the sidewall very quickly, so I've gone back to the more durable Maxxis and WTB tires there. They get cycled through occasionally on a spare wheel (managed to patch the sidwall with a tube patch and they've held up nicely. They setup with ghetto tubeless okay. The knobs on the outer edge of the tread are completely worthless and just add weight -- they're too far out to ever be engaged by the ground even with the most radical lean angle or even when riding across a steep slope -- presumably there for looks? Certainly not for function...
