Strength:

Looks good w/ the piggy back

Weakness:

Ok i know i submited a review earlier but since then i have broken 2 of these things. Both i broke in the same spot. What is up with that? so there goes 300 dollars down the drain and all i am left with is pile a crap. Sure it looks good but only use these things to put on ur wall cause thats all they are good for. I am switching to Stratos instead of Fox incraporated.

They suck and if i ever found one on the street i would burn it and roast marshmallows in the flame. Save urself some time and get a Stratos or an Avalanche. If it would let me i would give it no hotdogs!

Strength:

Its DH worthy, has good adjustments, nice and beefy, love the piggyback, and love how peeps look at u.

Weakness:

I dunno if it was just mine but i hit a 6 foot jump to slope and hit a table top in the air and when i landed the rebound knob just snapped in half.

Its a sweet shock but FOX needs to give u some kinda warranty on damage b/c i had to get a new freakin shock and they aren't the cheapest thing, but i think FOX is a good company and the only other thing id rather have is an avalache in the rear but my wallet doesn't agree w/ me.

Strength:

Cheeep NOS, fits shorter eye to eye bikes, strong.

Weakness:

none so far

I got this off eBay for $51 NOS. Did a little research and seems to be OEM on Cannondale V's from about 3 years ago. This happened to fit my bike perfectly, the OEM shock was a joke. Not many bikes these days have a 5.5" eye to eye and 1" travel.

I really like this shock. Does what it was meant to do, and does it well. In all fairness, I don't deliberately go out and try to break my bike, but I do have some fun.

Good, solid and works. If you can get one of these NOS ones for cheep, get two while you're at it.

Strength:

Very smooth rebound. Seamless travel. Lightweight. For the price this is a no brainer.

Weakness:

Strength and durablity are supposedly questionable. Personally speaking mine has been flawless.

If you have an endless supplyn of money, look elsewhere. But if not, then this is the rear shock to get.

Strength:

SOOOO plush and quite adjustable

Weakness:

OEM only :(

This shock is great...especially on the lightweight bike setup I have. I have only bottomed it once and that was a HUGE waterbar after a steep at Plattekill. Since I ride different downhills at home, I like that I can easily adjust the shock to suit the terrain. Even the big guys at the races like to ride my bike around. It has been labled plush and cadillac by many who have taken it out for a spin.

Also I have demo'd
a few straight 8s
and a Kona Stab DEE Lux. Too heavy for me.

Strength:

Plush, Effective rebound Damping adjustment, Smooth, PIggyback

Weakness:

Easily botom even with a heavy spring, Bent 3 Spring collars, no compression adjustment, bent the mounting bolts, leaks oil from the robound clicker, gritty feel of rebound clicker after alot of use, Blew out the compression damping

This is and OK shock. I've had it for 7 months and because of its constant bottoming i've folded 2 super V frames in half (firts person ever!), Sems like theres no compression damping anymore, rebound cliker feels gritty after a while, its really plush, but is you run any rebound damping and you hit a huge bump, the shock makes a sucking sound on the return, buy a stratos or RCR instead

Strength:

Long Travel
Piggyback
Wide Adjustment for Compression and Rebound

Weakness:

If you really listen well, it makes a little squigi sound when you go down just a little. OEM only.

This is an excellent product. Fox would make a lot of money if they opened them to the general market. It is a high-quality, top of the line product.

Strength:

No Flex , Wide Adjustment Range , Plush.

Weakness:

Price

I ride mainly XC with some DH and trials thrown in sometimes and this fork really rocks. The suspension action is silky smooth and the fork rebound is very adjustable. The fork is a little on the heavy side but you don't really feel it on the trial coz the ride is just so smoooth. 5 burning piles of dung~!!
