Manitou Nixon Platinum 2007 Forks

The SPV (Stable Platform Valve) is a special valve originally designed for rear shocks that helps reduce that up and down "bob" motion. The SPV valve located on top of the right leg (red ano.) gives this fork a snappy feel. Expect XC race like performance, yet long enough travel to hit up slope style stunts. The left leg holds the air spring chamber. Fully tunable, the Nixon Platinum offers external damping adjustments, but doesn't have a lock out or travel adjust ride height. The Nixon forks have: 1 1/8" size steerer tube. They also accept "post mount" style disc brake calipers (74mm) only.

Strength:

I.T. system,easy to service

Weakness:

product support suck's up here in Quebec. My fork was defective from day one.Fixed it mysefl(seasonned mechanic)Had to use an O-ring from a Topeak hand pump and teflon tape. The site is useful for servicing the fork. The best oils to use is Fox's float and 7wt oils, nothing else. You have to buy service kits in advance and the lower air shaft or else you need a second fork while waiting for the parts

This fork is what I need and you need to be a good mechanic to keep it going, like any other exoctic high end product.Would buy another one again.Beleave it or not the stanchions have barely faded(still black)in 4 year of use. Then again I don't wait to have problems before servicing it.
