Strength:

Great beginner trail bike, seeing as how i am a beginner trail rider.

Weakness:

Front fork could use more travel. It keeps bottoming out on rougher trails, and it is TOO heavy.

Great bike for a beginner. and it was cheap with a wicked setup. If you are looking to get into trail riding, it is pure good times with this bike.

Strength:

It hasn't broken yet, cheap

Weakness:

Weight, amount of travel available, adjustability, made by RST

This is the kind of component that needs to be upgraded. It lacks adjustability, it is heavy, the amount of travel available in other shocks of the same length is generally slightly greater. I've been fiddling with this shock for ages, either its too soft or too hard, either it rebounds too fast or compreses too fast....there seems to be no middle ground with the thing. It may be just my own incompetence but it may not be

Weakness:

- Heavy (who cares)

This seems like a reliable product. It is
quite heavy, but feels much better to ride home
instead of walking.

Strength:

The Rst 56 has been a dream. No leakages or breaks. Its cheap and is easily put onto a bike.

Weakness:

It tends to braek after 8 Months...(or so I am told)

It's a good product. Not raelly made for the serious downhiller but can be used for some hills and absorbs the hard landings.

Strength:

They're cheap and easy enough to set-up. Managed to survive about 8 months of riding when slightly bust

Weakness:

Mine broke with in 4 months of riding. It just fell apart and all the dampening oil came out. I managed to botch it back again, but unfortunately have no money to either get a new one or get it serviced.

I don't reccomend much really. if you do get one, make sure you use it for recreational uses NOT DH or the likes

Strength:

Good Rebound adjusteble,coil-over

Weakness:

weight, RST doesnot supply lighter springs

For a company that isn't on the market for ages like Rock-shox they make a good range of products, both forks and shocks. The rebound adjusteble RST-56 has a good range. so I would recommend it for slaloming and riding down mountains for riders which haven't got a big bank account.

Strength:

None

Weakness:

Absolutely no compression or dampening. The spring is what provides the cushioning if you'd call it cushioning seeing as its comparable to a pogo stick.

If your taking big drops and are 200lbs of raw muscle don't purchase a bike with this rear shock unless your willing and prepared to upgrade.

Strength:

Cheap, coil

Weakness:

leaked then broke, most people who had them on bikes in Australia trashed one or two before replacing them

Poor performer in general. They all seem to leak and some break. Also not very rigid, ie rear end flexed a lot with this shock on. They are cheap but I wouldn't reccomend that you buy one.
