Strength:

fast and bomb-proof handlebar mounting for the lampe and battery, lots(!) of light, good handling

Weakness:

insufficent handlebar mounting for the switch (better solution by Syntace costs about 30$), high price

Running at 16 Watts the Babylu delivers enough light for really(!) fast night rides, even on unknown tracks. It beats every other (non-Lupine) solution I've seen so far. Using the power-saving 8 Watts mode is a good alternative for road tracks or to be seen during dusk and dawn. The 3.6 Ah NiCd battery needs a lot of care but works fine. Make sure to empty it completely (until the Lupine switches off by itself) before you recharge it. I've never tried a Nightmare or Edision, but actually I don't need more light. The price is really deterring, but once you own one you will never give it away. It contains a lot of brain work. However, one star less in overall for the high price.

Hint: The Babylu is not sold anymore. The Passubio XC is the entry to Lupine's lamps now. It has a better battery (NiMH) and a better control unit (PCS).
