Strength:

Travel - Length and action, stiffness, style (come on...their ghetto gold!!!), cheapness to upkeep (atf fluid is cheap and easy to find), attention to detail.

Weakness:

Need to keep an eye on bolt tension around the crowns - they tend to loosen off (has happened to me once).

For the money these forks are great. The seals are leaky until they are broken in (around 10 hours riding), but then seal up very well. They steer great and the steering lock is excellent thanks to the offset crowns. Very stiff and quite plush. could possibly do with being slightly more lively over the first inch of travel, but thats a personal preferance and so is subjective, not a real fault with the forks. mine have been sadly killed in a road traffic accident (i frikkin hate car drivers) which makes me very sad as they are truly a great product. Tech support at Stratos is great as well. the guys are cool and respond quickly - a rare thing. try getting the same feedback from Rockshox (I used to work in a bike shop so i know how corprate they are)

Strength:

Very smooth and supple action.Torsionally stiff for good steering response.Easy to service.very nicely finished.Easy to tune.More affordable than most.Still being able to turn the handlebars 90 deg. with triple clamps.

Weakness:

"A little underbuilt".several of my friend have these forks (s-7's)and they have all had probles, some minor and some major.minor probles are leaking fork seals.the updated ones (i believe) are reconizable by having smaller notches in the collar that contain the seals. The factory seems to be supplying upgraded seal to the dealers for people who have the older seals.the bigger proble is for sure crowns cracking and breaking. if you have these forks i would keep a close eye on the area around the bolt that clamps the steerer tube on both upper and lower crowns, and though the webs on the underside of the lower crown.if you have these forks check the thickness of the crowns where the steerer tube fit through:the upper should be 16mm thick (up from 14mm),and the lower one should be 15mm (up from 12mm)if you have the thinner ones your dealer should replace them, but i know of one set of these thicker ones breaking.Keep an eye on your equipment(as you should) I have delt personally with the factory in getting my replacement parts and they were very helpfull, but its seeems to be hard to get anyone "home" sometimes.Having said this i would still not hesitate to buy another pair of these forks, the riding aroumd here is all about big air and I think any brand fork has been broken.

GREAT forks! just be aware that everything has its limits ,they're probably not as strong as say Mr. T's but they don't weigh near as much either.I can't figure out why all the other manufatures don't build in the same capability to turn your handlebars all the way 90 deg. as you can with these forks? ! Rockshox boxxers would be my second choice but they cost a bunch more ,their seals gush oil all over the place ,and they give your bike the turning radius of a bus.

Regarding James'review. This for is beefy, MX6, S7 they are great. I know this guy from the shop and let me make two main points:
1) He is a bad mechanic, know it all and probably put the fork on wron somehow.
2) He is not a good rider in fact he sucks.

Weakness:

The steerer bolt broke cause he didn't tighten it, the crown failed due to this and not it's design. He kept riding after the initial breakage from this loose steerer tube as he is an idiot. I have an S7 that is one year old, no problems as it was put on right. I ride twice as hard as this joker.

PUT THE DARN FORK ON RIGHT AND IT WILL LAST FOR A WHILE. LISTEN TO THIS PUTZ AND YOU MAY MISS OUT ON A GREAT DH -FREERIDE FORK.

email me with questions if you like, I would be happy to bash this fUUkker some more.

5 chilies to cancel his lameass out.

Strength:

very plush travel, stiff

Weakness:

seals (the older ones, now I got new seals, they are fantastic, even in muddy german conditions)
not progressive enough, I have to use harder springs and maximum of oil-level

this is my second review on this fork, first I had some problems with the older seals, then, after one year, both stanchion were bent forward, but stratos replaced them without any charge within three days. This is great customer service.
The MX 6 works still good after more than one year, what more do you want?
the fork is good for moderate downhill, for freeride, and even good for xc-touring (although it's not lightweight)

!This is the MX6 limited edition in BLACK!

Great sensibility, from small to big drops.
Excellent stiffness and wonderful feeling with an very cool head crown construction in grey CNC aluminium.
very nice and effective black coating on the stanchions:
You'll love the rebound adjustment!
All parts are detachable and you can convert from normal quick release hubs to 20mm hubs

Weakness:

converting from quick release to 20mm hubs is difficult and requires special equipment (however, you won't do it every week…)

Best fork for Freeride and Downhill!!! For this price it is an absolute bargain!!
I can only recommend this fork an don't now any better one in this category.
You should really use a 200mm Hayes Disc on this fork. It will blow you off your seat 'cause it is so stiff and transfers the brake power directly on the frame.

Strength:

super plush, upped to 7" travel, beefy 35mm stanchions, cheap to maintain

Weakness:

axle is of poor design but tap the end and put a bolt in it and you got a boxxer style axle

this fork rocks and when set up right feel like a boxxer with the added bonus of 90deg stearinglock beefy stanchions and cheap to maintain parts .. oil is ATF fluid about 4bux for a litre and the seals are cheap as form a bearing mob 13bux for 4...

buy this fork if u want a stiff super plush fork

Strength:

This is for the S-7: Very tunable, plush, strong, all CNC'd parts(no cheese here!) QR option(this is a big plus for those of us that get flats or need to use a roof rack) ease of service. Customer support.

Weakness:

None so far.

This is a very high quality product, works awesome, can be tuned to suit any conditions/rider. I've got the QR dropouts & flex isn't an issue. This is a very stout fork. I did have some downtime due to issues with a bad seal nut, but the guys at Stratos took care of me no questions asked and it got sorted out. It's nice to deal with people that really care about their product & customers.

This is an excellent product, made & supported by people that care. Highly recommended!
