BOO   Weekend Warrior [Jun 26, 2003]
Strength:

stiff, loox mighty cool (for those who know what HS33 r), has color, serves its purpose

Weakness:

maybe a little bit heavy, but it's hardly noticeable

Until i can afford to get a Whiteshurt Carbon booster, the steel booster from magura will do just fine. it's not THAT heavy, and it keep the HS33s worky perfectly -- nice and stiff for all your trials needs. Also works well if you don't want cable-Hayes (which r kinda gay), just be sure not to use tar if you're using these for DH or FR.

RIDE TRIALS! NOT TRAILS! peace

Strength:

Strong, easy to adjust on the bike, simple product which gives you a lot of braking power and control

Weakness:

Colours

There are much more brand which make these things but if you want a simple one just get one from magura, Besides you can choose for the regular or the horseshoe which i have in yellow (neon), fine product gives you more control over your brakes, you have them also in carbon (magura) woodman 50 us$, and so many more. But still i can recommand them to everyone who has magura's.!!!!!

Strength:

Does wonders for the improvement of the brake. Allows to use the full potential of the hydrolic system. Very easy to put on.

Weakness:

Price. Pretty pricey for two pieces of machined metal!

They work awesome! I had no brake boosters on before and I was noticing alot of flex in my rear triangle. There is little to no flex anymore. 3 flames for value, mine were really expensive, and 5 chilis for the improvement in my brakes.

Strength:

better than nothing, match the color of the brakes

Weakness:

not as good as the cheaper, lighter tektro's i have

(note:this is for the steel, swiss cheese ones, not the carbon ones)

the magura boosters are a great step over not having anything at all, but they are very limited in their capabilities. mine came free with my brakes, but if you are looking to buy boosters, the tektros are much much better at doing what they are supposed to do(although chances are they dont match your brakes). it's possible the magura carbon ones are fantastic, but pass over these unless you can score a set for ten bucks or less. on the bright side, they are just as good as the tektro's when it comes to taking the brakes off for removing the wheel and they do help to keep the brake location consistent. i got them free, so i am not sure how much they cost, but my value rating is based on 30 bucks wich is what i figure they want for a set.

Strength:

Adds sh!tloads of power.
Ends component and frame fatigue.

Weakness:

hmmm.

I thought I had been enlightend when I installed the Maggies. It hit a whole new high after installing the boosters. The brakes are so powerfull that the chainstays were spreading 5mm's on both sides and even the stout Z1's were giving in.
