Strength:

when i got a hold of it it had a acceptible group set (shimsno deore/alivio)the frame was a nice durible frame

Weakness:

every thing besides the group set and frame i would call junk

if you look for a buget bike that can be thrown around and that is a great beginners bike for cross country, and light trails this bike might be it but if your looking for somethin other than that save up that money and buy something else

Strength:

nice worked frame
color

Weakness:

heavy weight
poor parts
poor fork

The first thing to be changed were the wheels. They couldn't stand any hard ride and were heavy in weight. Next came the fork, the original RST 260 has no variable setup and bounces you around. giving the fork a lithium-grease package inside made the thing work better, but best is my new SID. Saddle was nice, but stolen in 1999. I definetly find the Flite better. The rear derallieur worked till last year, then I changed it for a new one (9speed). The front derallieur was damaged and had to be changed.
Altogether, the parts are the poorest I've ever seen, but the frame is nice. Ideal bike for beginners.

Strength:

scott yecora disc 04´ has a neat frame and radical finishes (colours and design) with good value for price and possible upgradings and street adaptation.

Weakness:

still the weight after taking off the 12 useless steel bolts + origine parts such as radical slim seat, the slipery pedals, the loose chain.

for biginners like me its a great reliable and affordable freeride bike but not for radical riding.

Frame is Nice

Weakness:

Saddle & Crank

Reasonable price, very good for beginers.
This bike good for Cross Country.
First priority you should change the 'Sadle'.
Then you can upgrade gradually base on your budget:
If you want to reduce the weight you should change:
1.Shock
2.Hub
3.Handle bar
4.Seat post

If you want to use for extreme XC change the components:
Crank or buy Shimano Deore XT group set.

Strength:

Response, Components, Design

Weakness:

Weight

After toying with VERY cheap end mountain biking, I decided to take the plunge and get the Yecora. To say I was most impressed would be an understatement.
I soon came to love its responsiveness, the new found agility to stop on a penny (unless on loose gravel!) From a armchair warrior, this bike has had me out on some of the roughest trails Scotland has to offer!
