Strength:

Great alu bike. Light, responsive, fast.

Weakness:

Very rigid, stiff, nervy -hard to control over bumpy terrain. I have somersaulted over the handle bars a few times... Rocky downhills require white-nuckle grip

I use mine in Europe only. I bought it in 1991, in NY, rode it in central park to dirty it and make it look second hand and took it on the plane back to Spain. I'm looking to buy anothar one (this time second hand) to use while in the US. Very nice bike, feels light and responsive. However, it has its personality, like a mare. You better let her know that you are in charge or she'll buck you right off the saddle as soon as you hit bumpy terrain...

Strength:

Strong, stiff frame, Ritchey rims and tires are top shelf! The Ritchey fork is good too. I bought it in 1991 & at that time it was a great bike. The technology has advanced leaps & bounds since then & this frame is worth upgrading. I will soon be buying a full suspension bike (I'm leaning towards a Trek Fuel 90 disk), but I will keep this one to loan to non-riding friends and trail riding.

Weakness:

Shimano LX front shifter broke, will not shift into the big ring. Vetta gel saddle is too hard. Cheap plastic cable guides on top of top tube broke off. The hard anodizing on the Ritchey rim has worn off, but this is purely cosmetic-the rims are strong. Headset needs to be tightened occasionally (the new threadless ones are great).

Great buy at the time. Worth upgrading: New shifters and headset, maybe a suspension fork will extend the life of a good frame.
