Strength:

Stiff, light & simple. Inexpensive. It never bottomed out. This fork came with the bike and it performed as well as expected.

Weakness:

Slow rebound. I would prefer a fork that offers more travel. This fork only has 80mm of travel & preload adjustment.

The fork is good for entry level/beginner XC mountain bikers. It's a great value but if you ride a lot of single track and downhill you will want to go with a better fork.

Strength:

surprisingly light weight, fairly rigid for an xc fork, look quite smart (especially on a silver bike, never managed to top out or bottom out

Weakness:

stanchions scrath and atrt to rust very quickly if left for more than a week or after a wet ride, rebound is not always quick enough compared to other forks

good lightweight Xc fork and general trail riding, excellebnt value for money

Strength:

No nonsense, simple fork, good for beginners

Weakness:

does not have the 80 mm travel it supposed to have - only about 60 at max,
a bit heavy, too stiff when riding hard over rough terrain, no adjustabillity

Nice fork for when you are starting with (light!) XC. Use it to learn the trade, and upgrade! I could use the adjust-button one time - after that it was stuck (rust?), and after applying too much force to it, it broke off (my own dumb fault, i know). It served me well for the many weekends I rode, but i noticed it became stiffer and stiffer, and at the end it had no travel left. Only after i upgraded to my new fork, i reallised that this fork is for beginners only. So, if this fork came with your bike, use it untill it's broken, and replace it with a better one (reba, sid, fox, ...). You will really enhance the performance of your bike. If you are looking to buy this fork, i must say: spend a little bit more for a fork that will give you much more bang for your buck.

Andy   Downhiller [May 23, 2006]
Strength:

The fork provides a decent amount of travel.

Weakness:

The fork is so flexy its dangerous. You can actually feel your tire deflecting off of rocks. There is no rebound adjustment. The preload adjustment does not work very well. Heavy

This fork is a good beginner fork, because when you first start you do not know how to adjust things. Once you decide to venture outside of the cross country course though, this fork just does not cut it. When you get into true trail riding, you need to have rebound adjustment and such. If you want to stay on the XC course though, this fork will not do you wrong.
