Strength:

Better than not having pedals.

Weakness:

Durability, Design, Performance, and Aesthetics are all quite poor. They're designed to have traction on only one side of the pedal.

The pedals came stock on my '12 Trek Marlin 29er. I had them on for about a month, riding technical CT forest trails at least 3 times a week, and I'm actually surprised that they still function at all. They look like they've aged years. 3 of 4 reflectors were missing within the first 3 times of riding them, they've bent out of shape, the bearings don't really spin but if you force them they will crunchily make a rotation with a little bit of force. The most annoying feature is that they are designed to only have traction on one side of the pedal, since one side is missing a lot of teeth. If you hold speed through rooty or rocky rough terrain you'll probably learn to mind your foot placement constantly because there isn't much room for forgiveness on these things. There's so little pedal there that from a distance they look like clipless, which makes you look like an idiot riding them in regular shoes. At least the gnarly gashes on your shins might draw attention away from the pedals themselves.
Overall I'd rate tham as abysmal, and recommend that if you buy a bike with these on it, consider replacements immediately.
