Strength:

Bombproof arms and axle, nice and stiff, you feel safe when you land hard!

Weakness:

Heavy! Great for rolling down hills and off drops, makes the bike stable in the air, but hard work bossing the back end of the bike due to the weight.

Sometimes hard to assemble as axle is very tight fit through bearings. Hammer required to get them apart..

Bearings do wear out, but take one to a bearing stockist (not bike shop!) and they'll give you fresh ones for £3 per ring - £12 for the set - not bad!

They've done me well, but I want to sell them for something much lighter as I'm not jumping much these days. Any offers?

Strength:

Really strong crank arms

Weakness:

really poor bottom bracket, stupidly heavy, you can get far better cranks for a similar price.

With these cranks i destroyed a set of bottom bracket cups and bearings once every 3 months and at £60 (over $100) to replace it just wasn't worth the hassle. sure the arms have a lifetime guarantee but that's no good when everything seizes up and you have to remove them with a blowtorch and lump hammer.
no matter what anybody else says right now buy shimano saints, they're better than anything else out there!

Strength:

Looks hard as nails, shame its not

Weakness:

I had the mark one cranks. Nothing but problems. I collapsed the bearings had to buy on own at £30 for the set. Couldnt get the chainring aligned up so it hit my chain device once every rev. Cranked the welding on the non drive.

These crakns where such a hassle, considerin all the good review i heard not impressed. I do no what Im talking about I work in a bike shop.Sold them and replaced with middleburn Rs7 no problems now.

Strength:

Very strong BB and cranks, good bearings (haven't needed to service them for nearly a year), look the gonads, 4 sealed bearings.

Weakness:

Heavy(ish).

Bought these after those crappy £25 Powerpro things that came with my bike - broke 2 BBs and 3 l/h side cranks before I bought these. No problems at all, rock solid, look good, and after nearly a year in the mud without much maintenence they are still sweet.

Strength:

Strength, Looks, Simplicity of chainwheel fixing
works well with bb mounted chain device

Weakness:

Bad stiffness (possibly due to the length of the axle- also increases loads on bottom bracket)
Poor sealing of bottom bracket.
Non-floating axle makes chainring alignment and clearance hard to set up.
Weight!
Design of spline interface

I wouldn't buy another pair of these cranks, as for the weight they are not stiff enough, and the durability of the bb is not good. Some areas of the design are poor, although it may have been improved for the second version. They are strong but so are aluminium cranks of the same price.

Strength:

strong
stiff
look great
excellent when working.

Weakness:

i cant get the chainring on straight
i got the mk1 cranks and cracked a weld, and broke the pedal threads. now ive got new ones on both sides and they are great (loads of improvements), so far.

i do reccomend them.
dont worry about me breaking them, i dont think anyone else has broken any (id put it down to me being fat and using a hardtail for big urban drops to flat.
i still reccomend them.
if anyone has had them and has had the wobbily chainring problem but fixed it please email me on how you fixed it.

Strength:

Average price for 3piece cranks. So unbelievably strong, I wish I was made of the same stuff, maybe then I would keep hurting myself. No flex at all (I like that)

Weakness:

A little heavy BUT what do you expect they really are very very strong. Bearings aren't brilliant, but they aren't bad either, Mine are fine but my mates died after 4months.

I cant even begin to describe how strong these cranks are. I think they're the best on the market. The price is OK there are cheaper sets but really do like these cranks, so I dont give a sh!t about the price, you pay for quailty and these are a quality item.
