Strength:

Made a great bike fantastic. Works and has never needed attention once set up.

Weakness:

None that I can find

This is the greatest product around to convert your V brakes to disc. Had a shop do it for me and it has worked great with no messing around.
If you want to make your ride great in all weather conditions, this is the way to do it.
If you need help with something, the folks at Brake Therapy are ready to help.
Be sure you have the hub that you will be using in hand when you buy the kit, as some have needed adapters. Esp if you have a Shimano hub.

Strength:

Installation was easy. Parts fit perfectly. Does what it's supposed to do.

Weakness:

Adds weight (170 grams). Adds $150 to the cost of the brake swap.

If you want disc brakes on your rim-brake frame, this is the way to go. I have had zero problems with this conversion since it was installed, and don't expect any.

Strength:

Best way to add Hayes to any bike.
Easy to install. No frame modifications needed.

Weakness:

Weight.
Unlike Disc ready frames, you need to disconnect the adapter before you cab remove the rear wheel.
Small amount of play.

Effective way to rig hayes disc brakes to your bike. Brake Therapy was the only solution that did not require me to weld or dill and bolt through my rear triangle that I could find. A good solution but like with all things there are drawbacks because it's a compromise.

Strength:

Being able to run a disk brake on a non-disk frame. Excellent materials (CNC machined T6 Aluminum) and design. Customer service is outstanding, the owner calls you back and returns e-mails himself.

Weakness:

It does add weight. But if you're that concerned about weight then why are you installing disk brakes? Some older hub types are not supported.

First off, this product is the best disk conversion system on the market. Some people try to find BT kits on e-bay but to get the right kit for the right hub spacer and the right seatstay arm, you have to call brake therapy. Brian (the owner of therapy components) usually picks up the phone when you call unless he is out riding his bike. It is great to buy a product from a fellow MTBer instead of some company run by suits.

Second, the only way this product could break a frame is if the frame was sub standard or there was faulty installation, or it was bought off of e-bay. Kona bikes has the brake therapy kit installed on the 2007 Stinky Primo, and they wouldn't do that if there was a chance that it would break frames.

Third, why are you still reading this? Go to the therapy components website, call Brian, get your kit, install it, ride on.

Strength:

The Brake is great. The control it can give you while coming fast into a tight corner is brilliant. Also while going down steep parts of the trail when you need to use the brake I feel all you need to use is one finger so you can have the that extra finger giving you good control of the bike.

Weakness:

The only weekness it ever gave me is when I changed my forks to a larger size the cable was to short and I had to install a new cable so that the cable wasn't catching with my wheel.

The brake was great and i'm real happy with the outcome of it use.

Strength:

solving a native problem that the frame had

Weakness:

None so far

Installation was easy. The craftmanship is superb. After installed, I gained more control at the corners, more confidence at the rough surface. It's harder to take off the rear wheel but i take the whole caliper off to make it easy. As the other reviewer said it broke the frame, it might not ideal for frames not made for full downhill purpose. Since brake therapy give wide range of freedom to use it for anything possible, users should consider how the frame should hold up. I would strongly recommend for Stab Primo.

Strength:

Does what it is designed to. Mounts solid and clean and once installed I havn't needed to adjust or mess with it.

Weakness:

None found so far.

This Therapy Component has put alot of life back into a bike that has served me well. If you have a bike that you like that you would like to put disk on then this is the item for you. Especially if buying a new bike is out of the question.

Strength:

Effective way to rig hayes disc brakes to your bike. Easy to install. No frame modifications needed. Customer support.

Weakness:

Weight. Rear adapter can add some weight to your bike, then again disc brakes do that anyway! Unlike Disc ready frames, you need to disconnect the adapter(pull a pin out) before removing the rear wheel(takes a few extra secs).

Great and easy way to install disc brakes. I was the first to purchase the Shimano XT conversion kit(prototype). No problems so far and I ride hard. Brake Therapy trim and bleed the lines for you. I was skeptical at first, but the adapter is well worth the cash. I now ride in all conditions including rain. Nothing compares to disc brakes!! Especially Hays. If your serious about riding give up the V's and get yourself Brake Therapy. You won't regret it!!
