Strength:

POWER good feel eough adjustments

Weakness:

too much power making me ride slow!!

biggest power brake going it cant be beat for power but on true dh tracks modulation is more important... the formula mega brkaes ive also used would stop me just as quick on a dh track.... theyre lighter and only cost around the same... its cheaper to get pads and brake oil for the megas and i think there is more feel to them but i still like the saints 203 at front 180 rear is more than enough for any dh track and theyre really reliable. the old problem with shimano used to be they were down on power but they seem to have sorted it out with servo wave.

if youre looking for the max power dh stopper... here it is but you may want to try before you buy... especially if youre buying new

Strength:

Very good stopping power, once engaged it locks on. Very sturdy casing on the breaks, seems rather indestructible.

Weakness:

None that i've found so far, except the stopping power is too good.

Shimano saints were probably one of the best investments i've made for my bike. If your looking for a reliable break that does the job and looks sexy on the trail. This break is for you.

Strength:

Unbelievable power. Easy bleeding. And they look cool.

Weakness:

None.

Simply the best brake made. I used k18's for a few years and they're nice, but after I cracked a piston I decided to get something with more power. Tried v2's and they're nice and look awesome, but the Saints are stronger. This brake is amazing. No sure why people complain about modulation cuz I have no problems. These require a light touch and that's why I love them... no more arm pump at Keystone!! These are truly one finger brakes, and honestly i can lock up tires with my PINKY with these things. The lever can be set up exactly how you want it. Also they are super easy to bleed, and in theory at least mineral oil will require less bleeding than DOT since it can't absorb water.

As for price, it ain't cheap, but you can get them for significantly less than the v2's or Formula Ones.

Strength:

Power - These things are a beast! They have much more power than the older generation Avid Codes. Their first real use was at Diablo and I had to turn the power down on them as the rear wheel was locking up to easy.
Ease - Shimano brakes are super easy to bleed in comparison to the Hayes and Avid brakes I have used. It is also a plus to me that they use mineral oil as it is not so corrosive.
Looks - The brakes look really nice. I dig the black with simple white graphics.
Other - The reach adjust is a great feature and works great especially since no tools are required. There is also no play in the levers which instills a solid feeling.

Weakness:

Price if paid new.

Great brakes so far. They performed great with no fade. Seem to be built really well as they took a beating from my trip to Diablo. I walked out with a concussion and a broken collar bone, the bike and brakes didn't hardly get a scratch.

The only reason I gave 4 stars on the value is because of the high price compared to some other systems.

Strength:

Great stopping power. Easy to adjust and perfect for both dh and trials.

Weakness:

Price. Original pads are not too good. The stock pads will make the stopping power fade at high speeds

These brakes are by far the best I have used.

Strength:

Awesome brakes by far. Inspires confidence even in the deadliest trails. Best modulation of any brakes.

Weakness:

People give it bad reviews because they don't know how to use it or don't use it for it's intended purpose. Only weakness is other bikers get jealous of it. hahaha

It's the perfect set of brakes for me, my bike and my riding style. Thanks Shimano for another spectacular product.

Strength:

Braking power, braking power and brake power! Easy to bleed, no further service necessary. Can turn bike on top without problems - good for bike parks/shuttle rides.

Weakness:

Price and weight are an issue...

The biggest problem is to get used to the brute force of these babies. You have to learn to modulate them sensibly on flat ground - otherwise you might go over the bars in an emergency! Not suitable for town rides or light XC in my opinion!
But as soon as I steer downhill they begin to shine - and the modulation on steep terrain is great. The Saints begin to work properly when most other brakes give up - especially with my 105 kg! Freeriders and Downhillers will not find a better brake easily!
They are rather expensive but worth every penny!
