Strength:

Pretty good components compared to others in price range

Weakness:

brakes seem to be a bit rough and sometimes shudder, but they still stop you pretty well. Nothing else really outstanding.

Had the bike about 6mths and given it a bit of a flogging. Usually ride on pretty rough xc/all mountain and surprisingly the bike has held up extremely well. Wouldn't hesitate to take of 3ft drops. This was my first mtb and would recommend to anyone wanting to get into it. I am now looking at buying a duelie but will definatley keep the maverick for a "kick round town" bike. This bike cannot be compared to top of the line bikes, but as an entry level i think it's a great buy, especially for someone who's not sure if they wanna spend a heap of cash.

Strength:

Very solind frame. good shifters, and i love the shifter/ brake dual combination, im sure those are on a lot of bikes now.

Weakness:

the brakes arent that great, bottom of the line mechanical disc brakes, a bit heavy. if you jump too high or land too hard the chain comes off, im sure i can fix that with a chainbot tool. the tires that come with it stink

Great XC bike it got me started into biking, now im building my custom bike with a leader bike frame( mountain ). Very good for just riding around and for hitting the trails on the weekends. Easily upgradable. If you are going to hit the trails get new tires first.

Strength:

Good frame, excellent gear selector.

Weakness:

Seat, seems to slip between the last two gears (easily fixed by tuning). Limited ability to adjust handle bars.

I love this bike. Good Value for the price. However, I had the seat post break during the first two months of riding (I only weigh 150 lbs). I have had no problems with the replacement.

I don't know what one of the other reviewer was talking about regarding the rims. I have taken them on some challenging trails and the double-walled rims that came with the bike are still running true.

If you are a beginner, or an intermediate rider this is a good frame to start with, replace other cheaper components with better ones as you can afford them, but the stock ones will last until then.

If you are an advanced rider shell out the extra bucks and buy a better bike.

Strength:

the frames nice and strong, but everything else is pretty crappy

Weakness:

tires, rims, crank, dont hit any crazy jumps without adding parts on to it, better forks rims tires

All out good bike if you add some money into it or if you just gonna ride xc its alright as it comes but definilty buy it if you got the money to put into it. nobody_01234@hotmail.com

Strength:

Seems like a tough, strong frame. I'm 6'0, 200 pounds. Adjustable pre-load forks. Nice seat, better than other stock seats for Iron Horse . I like the yellow paint. Disc brake mounts. 24 speed. Handles well. (21.5 frame). I was suprised at how light it is.

Weakness:

cheap tires and rims. Welgo pedals might need to be upgraded. Paint scratched from just being on my car bike rack.

Great bike for the price and very cool looking. 24 speed is a nice addition but might cause problems with the drivetrain if it needs to be replaced. I rode it first time for a 20 mile stretch on a fire trail and it flew. As with any bargain bike I wouldn't recommed heavy jumping or downhill action. But for the weekend warrior it's a steal. I've been riding for 20 years and have seen a lot worse bikes in my time.

Strength:

Solid construction

Weakness:

Not the best quality components; could be a little lighter for urban riding

A good entry-level mtn bike. Looks good. More importantly it's tough-enough for the street. I use it to commute to work and back - about an hour's ride every day. It's a punishing ride as the roads are riddled with potholes and broken glass, the pavements are the same. Traffic is hell but I have survived a couple of acidents on this baby whereas my old road bike would have let me down.

Strength:

was on a great sale $150 off. its got great shocks, good shifters, and decent tires. its got a nice anti scrath paint job. very comfortable seat and 80mm travel is lots IMO.

Weakness:

could use better tires like kendas or maxis. would mind quick fire shifters

great bike for the money, i would definatly buy another iron horse but ive only had this bike for a few days now... recomend to anyone who wants a great bike for anyone who doesnt wanna spend to much.
