Strength:

Very strong frame, fork, specs, bars, good all-arounder, can take some light downhill, absorbs bumps very well for a hardtail, can actually freeride almost as good as some full-suspensions, great value

Weakness:

crankset, brake, a bit heavy for a hardtail

Amazing bike! Awesome for freeride and some downhill. Can also dirtjump, but I don't recommend it for XC, considering it is slow on the uphills and it is a little heavy. Surprisingly, this thing can rip downhill almost as good as some full suspensions! It absorbs bumps well for a hardtail, and can sustain a lot of abuse. The fork and handlebars are quality, but the brakes have very small discs and tend to need to be bled often. Great bike for a beginner freerider or dirt jumper!

Strength:

A very sick looking bike, Solid frame, nice hussefelt bars, aggressive tires.

Weakness:

Broke a headset first ride i don't even know how never dropped the bike. Front shocks are way to soft. Other then that a very sick bike.

A very good bike for any level of rider very smooth and good for any kind of riding. But highly recommend better shocks.

overall a good bike for the price.

Weakness:

seat is extremely uncomforitable,
broke a headset within a week of having the bike.
my brakes arn't the best, but there alright.

pretty good bike for the money.
don't take it off of any big dirt jumps.

Strength:

After 3 years, with little maintenance, only had a few things break while riding it hard on year 3 in Whistler.
I thought it was a decent climber, especially on technical bits.
Comfy ride

Weakness:

The MZ fork would bottom out when lifting it up a curb.
Seat post needed some constant attention.
Hayes were noisy and the rotors were always rubbing the pads.
Kenda tires would spin out on uphill gravel.
Shimano Alivio would bounce off the frame constantly on bumpy downhill.
Kids thought it was a dj.

Did two years of city riding. Last year I had it up in Whistler, doing weekly laps of 'cut yer bars', 'river runs through it' and Lost lake trails. Even took it down 'Hey Bud' which turned out to be the last time I rode it :). Broken chain and a cracked crankset guard.
It did well on cut yer bars and river, though.
It definitely made me progress as a rider, and realize that I need to ride better stock.

Downhiller

Strength:

Strong Frame, kenda nevegals, fork is good quality for the price, avids are some of the best quality ball bearing brakes

Weakness:

fork is annoying to adjust as allen keys are always needed, hubs and rims are terrible, the front rim bent on my second day of riding from a 3 metre drop to flat. gear changers are low-end and unreliable. Lack of hydraulic disk brakes. Original cranks were really really bad.

Great beginners bike but some aspects need to be changed before any kind of serious riding can be done. Rims are bad quality but are good if you take it easy. If a few changes are made then this bike has real freeride hardtail potention. I would recommend the stock version for weekend warriors or am. riders

Strength:

this bike is almost flawless.
frame is mega strong, welds are good, geometery is sick, good componentry.

Weakness:

bit heavy.

this is actually for the norco wolverine.
i dont think there is much point in spending an extra £100 for the rival. the wolverine has the same frame and the components are a bit different e.g stem and bars are unbranded so basically on the rival your paying for brand names not the part.
right half the people on this site dont know what there on about so basically, its strong good components and can be used for anything however whether you get wolverine or rival the forks and wheels need to be upgraded.but i was amazed when i could find dj's easy on it as well as freeride and shore.i love it.
if you can buy it!!

Strength:

very good, strong frame you can easily upgrade it to a great level on a summer sales...very comfortable, safe easy ridin bike, best bike for the$!!!!-marz.fork,truvativ crank hayes discs, sun rims, kenda tires for 750$!Get it while they have `em in the nearest shop!!Other manufacturers dont offer this compilation of quality parts for the $

Weakness:

hayes mx-2 disc brakes are not a quality product, alivio rear/shifters shift badly slow,xc crowd should run away from this bike:)

I have my Norco for two and a half years now,and all I can say its the best bike for that price. No doubt about it!I use it for every day, every purpose riding, done 12500km on it since then,so i can say that this is one safe, comfortable and reliable bike.I changed hayes discs cause they have been producing unbelieveble noises no matter how much you try to set it up right, avid bb7 with 185mm rotors outperformes those hayes in every way!Same thing with shifting,i replaced alivio/acera with sram x7 group and the difference is huge, like you re riding with F1 gearbox. As I said, get this bike just for the frame, its heavy, beefy, but upgrade it and you ll get a great value freeride tractor!!Norco can i get some good discount on a new rampage :))))))
