DESCRIPTION

At Kona we know there are those nut jobs out there who still like to climb before they huck. This year's Stinky TL is a repurposed version of our legendary freeride bike designed for such "multiculturalism." With all the durability of a park bike, joined with the spec to go to the top thanks to a dual front chain ring with an E*Thirteen Heim2 chain guide, rest assured you can go big both ways. Super powerful Avid Elixir brakes, RockShox Domain fork, and a sturdy 12mm rear end.

    Strength:

    Very confidence inducing. Suspension is plush and active (even when braking) and the componentry set up on the stock bike is mostly decent.

    Weakness:

    Shifters (SRAM X-5s), Hubs (Formula generic), rear shock (Kona Fastrax).

    The bike is awesome, but in order to keep it affordable, Kona made some sacrifices were in the less visible areas (like the hubs). The stock parts won't break after a short time, they're just bottom of the functional spectrum. They get the job done but are by no means nice.
