Transition Bikes TR450 Downhill Full Suspension

The TR450 is a World Cup proven race bike that excels in a variety of conditions and inspires confidence from the first pedal stroke. The careful attention to rider position and frame geometry create perfect weight balance for improved stability and responsiveness. The TR450 has fully adjustable geometry to suit different rider preferences and course conditions; adjustments include bottom bracket height and head angle as well as chainstay length & wheelbase. The neutral spring curve makes suspensions setup a breeze. No custom tunes necessary and plenty of room to adjust the suspension feel for rider preference. The TR450 suspension has a supple top stroke and good bottom-out control resulting in awesome traction and predictable handling on the trail. We made sure the TR450 was easy to setup and maintain, reliable and built to shred whether you’re riding a World Cup race track, Whistler Bike Park, or your local session trails.

Strength:

Slack low and long. Suspension is relatively linear, TONS of fun to ride. Forgiving suspension and super playful at speed. Super adjustable. Big bearings that don't wear quickly. Good construction, looks, and even a decent pedaler

Weakness:

Not the most poppy, or glued to the ground. Rebound knob is a pain to get to

This bike is the most fun bike I've ever ridden, and I've become a 10x better rider since I bought it, but that's not only the bike its was also chasing around all the awesome riders up in the northwest. I was living up in bellingham this summer and got lucky enough to pick one of these up for cheap. After I bought this bike it was a whole 2 months before I took any of my other bikes out, and this is the first thing I ever ridden that compares to skiing powser. Once you get it up to speed its lively and poppy, but it does need a little more body english to get into the air than some other bikes out there. The suspension is relatively neutral, not to poppy, not to much glued to the ground feel. Rails corners and comes out with speed. Great in northwest super steep techy trails. Maybe not the best bike for someone riding mostly jump trails, or someone riding tons of square impact rock gardens, but if you are looking for something that can hit big jumps, steeps, tech, and put a huge smile on your face the whole time buy this bike.

Strength:

Just makes you a better rider, Bike handles everything with ease. From Nasty Gnar to Rocks jumps it doesn't care. Absolutly Love this Bike better than anything I have ever ridden

Weakness:

Your buddies always want to ride it----- Does have some brake jack issues----Rear link is near impossible to get too

The bike is awesome. After three runs I was flying. Bike handles everything so well. Bike is low long and slack. I have rode all year all four seasons.2-3 days a week. The low BB jammed me up a couple times with pedal strikes and if you get into tight rocks and trees the length plays in. Bottom line great bike and the Company is Awesome and supportive. Thanks Transition for makeing an awesome product

Strength:

Amazing through rough sections, best single pivot ever, adjustable for personal preference, simple lines so easy to clean just spray off no brushes, fun to ride very poppy which makes it feel lighter, durable

Weakness:

Pretty heavy for a race frame but durable because of that, hard to get to the link to adjust the geo, real axle is heavy an=d pain to take out but apperently improved for 2011, a bit of brake jack when both breaks are locked on rough sections

Amazing bike overall wouldnt want to ride any other bike other than the new M9.Amazing performance, durability, geo and design.Transition provides great support and great design for the average non-world cup downhill joe.

Strength:

Plush, slack, affordable, relatively light, awesome customer service/company is great in general

Weakness:

None

This frame is awesome. It's very lively but way smoother in rough sections than other single pivot bikes I've owned or ridden. The adjustable geometry feature is a nice way for riders with varying preferences to dial the bike.

I'm still wrapping my head around the adjustments on the RC4, but definitely getting close to perfect. Transition is a great company. All of the employees shred hard and everyone there has a say in the final design. This bike was thoroughly put through the motions by those guys before it dropped. Finally, it's a BARGAIN.
