Strength:

Trek frame. Price isn't too bad with the level of components

Weakness:

Brakes are okay, pedals are trash. Broke the chain after 600 miles, then broke it again on mile 720.

Good bike - it takes the abuse quite well. Not too heavy but not too light.

Strength:

Very good frame, disc ready, excellent overall value considering the price (1000$ Cnd).

Weakness:

Brakes are cheap, very cheap... Cheap stock pedals - changed for my Time ATAC :)

Brakes are very very weak but easyly upgradable (and disc ready), my next upgrade! I'm little affraid of the durability of the fork (Manitou Magnum R) and as soon as it die, i'll change it for Judy or SID. The chain was factory defective (broked on first ride) but was changed quickly. The LX derailleur is doing the job considering the price BUT the front Deore just plain suck and cause of the high speed number (27), the synchro must be adjusted befor each ride.

Overall, pretty good bike out of the box :)

FRAME ROCKS! Overal component are good, except the brake and pedal.

Weakness:

Brake are weak, not powerful, i replaced it with Avid 1.3. I also changed the pedal for my DX clip pedals

This is a really great bike, the equivalent of the corvette Z06 in the bike world : YOU SIMPLY CANT GET MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCKS! Also, use this little trick that really metamorphosed the magnum r: get the spring/mcu out of your fork, buy the x-cert springs, and add mcu as needed to make the spring lenght as long as the older. now ride and feel the diference ! Its like u changed the fork!!
This is really a great bike, and with the yellow paint, it is amazingly beautiful

Frame stiffness,24" top tube,Replacable hanger,Disc compatible,Cables placed strategically,Frames Geometry and it's BRIGHT YELLOW oh yeah!

Weakness:

Brakes,Stem,Pedals and Front Hubs,For some people the Manitou Magnum R suspension came as stock (not bad)

Rode the stock for a season 6days in a week (2,280 Mi)no problem and that's a combination of city streets,Singletracks, and fire road,Wheels still true, good accelaration,no frame cracks, handles well, but as you can see this Bike is very upgradeable just take a couple of spacers and your ready for racing. If you are novice (like myself)XC,occational hops, drops and like to upgrade based on your prefferances this could be just the bike for you.FOR THE PRICE AND COMPONENTS IT'S UNBEATABLE.

Beginner Bike---was a good bike to get me into racing and riding. I needed a better racing bike, so I converted it to a single-speed. And now I ride it more then all my bikes.

Strength:

Frame is rock-solid. Some people don't like the shocks, maybe I got a good set--they're great. Mucho bang-for-your-buck (great price).

Weakness:

None.

I'm fairly new to biking, but I spoke to a lot of people and did a lot of research before deciding on this bike. I am very happy with my decision. The frame is really great, so I can upgrade components if I get real hardcore (10 foot drops etc.)

This bike kicks-ass! I love this bike!!!

Strength:

Great Frame, good handlebars, good tires, good cranks, good shocks, good rims, great saddle

Weakness:

cranks started making lots of creaking noise(only after taking a 5ft drop a few times though, my bad, the bike isn't made for that), shifting cable got a kink in it, had to replace it.

This bike is great. It flies through the trails and has held up well in all crashes. The frame is beefy yet is surprisingly light which makes it a good race bike. I have taken some serious drops with it and the only thing that has gotten meesed up were the cranks, they started making lots of creaking noises. It climbs really well on loose or hard packed sand. Brakes don't do so well in wet or muddy weather though, so i suggest upgrading those. Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade the fork. I plan on upgrading mine to something with more travel.

Strength:

Light, strong frame, steering, geometry

Weakness:

shock!, headset!, chainring

Ok here we go! I bought this bike strictly for the price and the component group it was in. I had little money to spend and I wanted something that was durable and light. I new after my first few rides that the shock had to go! Ride the hell out of the bike and when the shock goes, buy a new one. I knew this was going to happen, but again i had little money to upgrade to a better bike set-up. Next, the headset totally failed me at the end of last year. I just recently put on a new chris king. Great headset!! The front chain rings are very week and when i get some dough I will buy better ones. I've been knocking this bike pretty bad so far, but I knew that this would happen, so I made sure the bike I got needed to be able to upgrade. With these two upgrades so far, this bike is great! The frame is tough and light and it handles very well. If you want a great bike for the buck then this is it, but keep in mind that you will have to replace a few things like all bikes over time.

Weight, derailers, rims, brakes, color scheme and made in US.

Weakness:

Front suspension travel, weak chain.

Amazingly light and fast. High quality frame made in US and cool paint scheme. Fast shifters and strong rear rim. I wish front suspension had more travel and the chain is weak.

Strength:

Good Solid frame to build upon. Great for racing...

Weakness:

I didnt notice before but after getting my new brakes there is a tremendous difference in handling and braking.

I purchased the bike after getting a wally world Mongoose and am glad I did. Great for racing on the TDD circuit in Oklahoma. Had all stock parts when I bought it and I have upgraded alot of things and have a few more to go. I have ridden a dual suspension bike and for racing at least here in OK I like the 6500 better. I am looking to get a Joker 1.5 for freestyle/DH some time this year.
