Strength:

Still fantastic after all these years (see earlier reviews).
BUT :(
I broke it last week on a rocky descent in the Lake District.
Gutted!
The seat tube cracked all the way around, just above the botomnracket weld bead. Rode 7 miles back to cottage where we were staying, out of the saddle to stop the poor thing grinding.
Other than that I'm very happy with the use I've had from it. It's been hammered up hill and down dale.

Weakness:

It didn't last forever.

Enjoy it while you can, aluminium doesn't last forever, it has a finite fatigue life.
If you are getting one second hand, check the tube junctions near the welds (heating weakens Al) and suss out the type of riding that it has prior to it coming onto the market.

Strength:

Real HARDtail. It realy stays where you aim it to. Very strong and fast uphill. Very well balanced and stable on extreme uphills. It really puts the power on the track!

Weakness:

None

A real hardtail for singletrails or races. I have had it with Pace fork and magura brakes for almost five years and really was very satisfied every time I rod it. For about two weeks now have changed to Fox Forx 130RLC (by mistake; wanted to order the 100RLC)and disc brakes XTR. The bike got UNBELIVABLE!!
Now its even faster than before!! (it seats better on the back without loosing any of its agillity or its climbing abillity)! Now its lighter (changed from XT to XTR) and can't wait everyday to ride it.Fox Forx is perfect, rely reads the track. If I was to buy a new hardtail, I'm sure I would buy it again. SIMPLY THE BEST

Strength:

Geometry, brakes, power, handling, looks, reputation

Weakness:

slightly short in the top tube

This bike is the bo~~ocks. I've previously owned a Klein attidute and the pace is by far a superior machine.
Climbing is made so easy by the ultra stiff chain stays and power is put to the ground just when you need it.
Full XTR makes the bike virtually faultless. I'm 6'3" and use an 18" frame. for me the top tube is slightly too short but nothing that you can't get used to.
Shame they don't make em anymore.

Strength:

Awesome handling, climbing ability and looks to kill for. Goes uphill like a mountain goat on speed!! and down the other side quickly too. Build quality is second to none, and its british, so no problems with a warranty its for 5 years and covers racing. How many yank bikes do that.Mine had to back to the factory when I snapped the seat post after 2 1/2 years i phoned the manufacturer posted the frame off, and waited. They asked if i would like any extra work done to the frame, I had disc mounts welded on , and what colour I would like my frame in, all at no extra charge, usually costs in excess of £200.

Weakness:

Be very careful how the bike is built, and component choice. Can be a harsh ride, but not if a lot of seatpost is hanging out. I snapped my frame as a result of using the wrong chainset (a Syncros revolution). Some frames 'creak' around the bottom bracket area i have tried everything to rectify this the only solution i have found that works is to go out and get it dirty.....and thats the truth.

This bike is the bollox. Sell your children to buy one, you will not regret it, you can always have more kids later!
A proper X Country hardtail, I can still beat full sus bikes down hills, all they see is my back on the climbs.
Do whatever you have to do to buy one life is too short to worry.

Strength:

Build quality, genius design, British, works in the mud (e.g. the Pace forks), ultra light.

Weakness:

Kind of a little expensive.

Really rather superb (English understatement by the way). Just pop out on a Pace and you'll get a jolly big grin on your mug.

Strength:

The fastest, most responsive hardtail frame, bar none. It's light, stiff, strong and rules on singletrack. It's hand made and the quality and attention to detail is truly awesome: seat tube O ring, gussets, offset rear triangle, anti-chainsuck plate etc etc. The geometry may look nothing special, but when you ride it you see Pace have come up with a bike that handles in avery special way indeed. Quite simply, the bomb.

Weakness:

The frame rules, but be careful when building it up, this ain't your run of the mill taiwanese/yank tat. It takes a lot of care due to the awesome precision of the frame. Some seatposts squeak too, try gasket sealent eg Hylomar to sort it. Hard to get 29.4mm seatposts. I have to say though that while the frame rules, the Race Face System stem sucks ($100 stem that won't clamp?) and the EVOIII forks ain't too hot either with loads of play in the bearings.

There has never been a better handling frame than this Pace. It is harsh and demands riding finesse, but get use to this and its razor sharp steering and you will be rewarded. It responds to your every input and accelerates amazingly. It's way strong and can take abuse, but is light enough to race and ride all day. On top of this, it's built to the highest standards possible and with more thought than any other frame. A classic and I'll never sell it.

Weakness:

I bought this bike from a guy in Shefield he'd only riden it 150 miles paid £1250 sold the hope wheels( fine fine wheels but just not CK I'm affraid) The RC 38 stated leaking not paying pace service charges so got 05 Fox fx80 (ebay new boxed £270!) they simple blow the pace away the bike amazing now so so stiff when cornering I have riden RC200 in the pasted and they are a bite harsh compaired to my ARC at the time however I can honestly that the RC300 is not is up there with the best simply it's that good.

You can ride all day and after fitting the moots bar and stem
I just can't help smiling only problem now is I what a YBB!

Strength:

Total quality,rigidity,precision.

Weakness:

A hard ride, particulary if you have lost fitness and hence speed as thie bike become smooth with speed.

I bought a new RC 200 F3 (Version 3) for £2000 fully built up and after a year it got lost(stolen) on a flight. Went and bought an F4 second hand for £600 which was less than a year old. Never even looked at anything else. The Pace is as rigid as anthing on the the market. It has all the virtues, pin point steering, climbing prowess(if you have the power) ,single track king, down the other side will make you concentrate and put a big grin on your face. The only thing I will say is that the fitter you are the better the ride as it becomes smoother with speed. The year my bike was made they didn't anodize the frame but polished instead, big mistake as it marks up badly.Next winter it will have to go back to the factory to get anodized and have the RC31 forks fitted to smooth up the front end a bit.I will never replace it. GO ON, BUY ONE!

Strength:

Frame looks, frame strength, climbing ability, rigidity, gussets and anti-chainsuck plate, lack of flex

Weakness:

Rigidity - unless you have a lot of post showing and a flexy railed saddle, the back end is severe.

Money well spent on a bike that just screams to be hammered in the singletrack, climbs like a mountian goat on steriods and descends like its on rails...superb ride, builts into a reasonably light bike and rides like a Rolls Royce drives...
Killer looks (square-tubed XC hardtail), this bike turns the head every time.
