Strength:

Indestructible frame and forks, decent wheels.

Weakness:

Seat - too hard to sit on for any duration; handlebars - very wide.

Extremely tough bike. We "inherited" the bike from relatives after their sons had a crack at it. I've put a couple of dents into the rear wheel, but I'm 210lbs, and inertia + concrete is sometimes too tough to overcome, no matter what you throw at it. This bike has lasted through countless teens and even a few old guys reliving their youth on the dirt and concrete, and its still going strong.

Strength:

SOLID frame. On the lite side. Not a lot of junk to get caught up in.

Weakness:

Rims to soft. Pedals snap easily. The crank bends easily.

Specialized built a great bike frame. They do however need to work on the components. Actually that applies to all bikes.

Strength:

Strong Frame, Good Paint Job, Good Cranks, Good pedals, good Sproket, Good Handlbars, Good wheels

Weakness:

stupid Brakes

The Bike's tight, I don't agree with the person on top of me. No answer fork? What's your problem, there's barely any bike that sells with answer forks unless it's a gay Mosh. 636 pedals? That'll kill you at the trails. XT's they suck! Good braking but that rattle like a rattle snake and have hella high matinence. Your a real loser buddy whoever wrote something on top of me about answer forks. Caliper bikes? What are you talking about? Specialed is one of the best BMX companies out there. Your a serious fag my anomonyous friend

Strength:

Stiff, good-looking frame. The Spanky tires are the best BMX tires on the market.

Weakness:

Made in Tawain. I still think it wouldn't hurt to have a full seat tube.

I actually have a Hemi Comp frame (same as Team, just different color) with parts I've upgraded over the years. I started with a '97 Fatboy A-1, and the headtube had a flat spot in it and made a creaking sound, so they sent me a '98 A-1. 6 months later, at the joint where the down/top tubes meet, it was cracked all the way around along the welds. Instead of getting another frame just like it, I paid $90 extra to get the new '99 monocoque frame. It is a lot better looking, and considerably stiffer. It's the same frame Christophe Leveque races, so you know it's gotta be good. I don't understand the review below mine. He said the parts were terrible just because there were no answer forks, no Xt's, and no 636 pedals. Hello?! This bike is $400 cheaper than the old Team model, and the new frames are WAY better! For $400, you could upgrade to all that stuff, and have cash left over to buy a race uniform! He also said it's bad enough that the GT Speed Series and Haro Monocoque had to go from world class racers to department store caliber bikes. The same Haro frame is still available, and now they also have a complete bike (the frame is made overseas) that's more affordable. It used to be just a frame only, and now it's both. The complete bike is still hardly department store caliber. As far as the GT, I have to say I totally disagree! The new frames have a better headtube junction, better paint job, and the same (if not better) components. The Spin wheels on the older models were heavy, cracked often, and just drove up the price. BMX is doin' great! I give this bike 4.5 flaming dead horses, but I would give it a full 5 if the frame had a seat tube and was made in U.S.A.

cool frame! TERRIBLE PARTS! No answer fork, no Xt's, no 636 pedals? what's up? Please! Is BMX going insane, it's bad enough that the GT Speed Series and Haro Monocoque had to go from world class racers to department store caliber bikes now the Fatboy is going that way too? Disgust! 97-98 Glory years for BMX, 99, please end, soon!
