Strength:

Light frame, stiff rear end, great quality components for a complete bike, fairly light and stiff chrmoly forks.

Weakness:

Aluminum cranks (REALLY BAD), short front end for someone with a long torso.

This is a great frame for those of you who would like to get a race-worthy bike without the cost of custom building. Short front end makes Pre-manual and manual a little tricky, but carves the turns well. Recommended for riders 5'6" to 5'10". Get rid of the aluminum cranks IMMEDIATELY and step up to a good tubular chromoly like profile, AC, or GT make. If you want to go fast, jump smooth, and rocket out of the gate, all on a budget, buy this bike!

Strength:

frame,fork,handlebars,stem,wheels

Weakness:

cranks&bottom bracket are not made by GT, they say GT but are actually FSA. Bottom bracket creaks & cranks would not stay tight. Replaced w/4130 GT CRANKS NO MORE PROBLEMS!

GT SPEED SERIES 24 IS A DREAM TO RIDE/RACE. THE CRANKS REALLY SUCK BUT THAT PROBLEM WAS EASILY SOLVED BY REPLACING THEM WITH GT 4130 CRANKS & SEALED BOTTOM BRACKET. WHY WOULD GT USE CHEAP CRANKS ON THERE HIGH END RACE CRUISER?
