Ghost AMR All Mountain Full Suspension

Ghost AMR Suspension Bike 120mm pure riding fun We treated our super lightweight aluminum frame to all of our technologies, put a Fox chassis in and equipped it with high-quality Shimano components Every second on this bike equals pleasure Ghost AMR 5700 Suspension Bike Technologies: Tapered Headtube: The tapered head tube broadens towards the bottom leading to better force transfer from the fork to the frame. The increased stiffness of the tapered head tube combined with the tapered fork lead to the bicycle 8217;s improved and more direct steering. Specific Chainstay Length: Specific Chainstay Length means that the chainstays grow with frame size. This system already has a long tradition at GHOST. The principle is easy. Not only do our frames grow in height and in length at the front, but also at the chainstay at exactly the same ratio. This results in a perfectly balanced bike which offers superior riding performance in any frame size. Reverse Hanger: The reverse hang

Very capable, I´m always out with peps riding 160mm or more travel, the AMRs classic, simple yet great 120mm suspension design is extremely good when climbing, it feels just like a hardtail, even in open mode.

Price is great (at least in Europe, mine was <1500$). Solid build with Fox susp, Shimano drivetrain and 180mm brakes, Schwalbe Evo tires, etc. The Alexrims on Deore hubs are pretty durable, spoke tension was just fine after 2500km of "Enduro" riding although it´s supposed to be AM-tour/trail bike.

Some cheap groups installed on the 2012´ AMR 5700 (brakes, deore cranks, etc). No Shadow+ rear derailleur. Bit heavy frame, the No dropper post, Nobby Nic tires aren´t that great in wet conditions. Paint rubs and chips rather easily when in contact with the wires/cables or hit by stones. Handlebars could be wider (they´re only 680mm) and stem maybe a bit shorter. 3x10´s more gears then needed, requires lots of shifting. 9mm axles on this 2012´ model.
Linkage hardware needs to be tightened from time to time.

Great bike, capable, good up- and downhill, some additions might be necessary but it´s a great plattform to start from.
Get one while you can! Last 26" in 2013, 2014 only 27.5" and 29", 2015 is 29" only!

In addition read "Long Term Review: Ghost Cagua 170er" on - the AMR is the same exact plattform, just with 50mm less travel.
