Burly, Fun on the up, fun on the down. And a great company to do business with.

wish it had more shock options.

The bike could use better cable routing for the seat post - but I believe the 2013 has rectified this.

I am reviewing the 2011 FXR, but mine started out as a 2010 FXR. I bought a 2010 FXR at first, but at 6'3" I found it a little on the small side, for my lenthy torso. I run a 90 mil stem and a zero layback post. I just found the cockpit a little tight. So I asked Foes about it, and after a few calls, we decided to build me a bigger front triangle based on teh 2011 design. The finished product has 1/2" longer TT and a 1.5" headtube. This has worked out great.

The bike started off with a Curnutt air shock - which is great for all around riding, since it climbs well and is plush - but it was lacking on high speed hits - as it had too much compression damping/platform.

since then I have replaced the Curnutt with a DHX Air shock - 2012 with Kashima. This was a big improvement and is much more plush.

The bike does bob slightly more on climbs than previous - but no more so than other 6" travel bikes.

A benefit of going with this shock is Foes includes an adjustable eyelit mount, which allows you to adjust bottom bracket height.

I've ridden this bike all over Tahoe Rim Trail, Downieville and Bay Area trails and the bike simply rips. It climbs technical stuff great and is uber plush on the downhills.

I would absolutely recomend it to anyone in the market for a burly AM bike.
