SUPPLENESS....COMPLIANT....or in other words...and old MTB'rs dream bike
Has the old school OS or shmancy squeezed tube to five it a nice ride overall....yep, those new super-stiff headtubes DO affect the ride in their own small way.

Prestige steel adds to the comfort. Laugh at those that say air pressure and handlebars make more difference (on alu vs steel)...well, if you put the comfy h-bars and lower pressure tires on a skinny steelie vs an alu, don't you think it would be an even nicer riding steelie? hmmmm....

Price....I could (and have bought near 100 bikes in my 30 years of ridin') have bought anything, and even had a lynskey Ti, explosif 853 tubed and all sorts of breezer/blizzards to zions....all great in there own right. This one is just a marvel though.

Run it SS and geared, it loves both, and the ird sliding dropouts are a big bonus to tighten up the rear (have never slipped) if wanted.

It is a magic carpet ride not unlike my vintage '94 breezer....just as smooth as it gets with susp. or rigid fork.

Am running a 2.2 on rear, it will take a 2.4 but not much if any more.

Heavy....yep, sorry, but my 20" frame is at least 5lbs +...but there ya go for almost any steel that isn't s3 or expensive beyond reason.

Love it .... beats my old brodie espresso and stumpjumper and the only frame to come close to my carbon and steel diamondback wcf (best bike ever made for comfort+performance). This is on the limit of comfort...any more and it would be noodly...noodley....

A good thing I found is to put 100mm susp. forks on it to slack it out a bit (about 69 degrees...maybe a tad less) and this iron shines.

Drill a drain hole in the BB, boeshield the heck out of it and go to town....a keeper for life. This is from a guy that has owned more than 80 steel frames...really.

Gusset on downtube prob. not necessary, but adds to it's indestructiveness look.

Good luck finding the V2 model, I bought the very last one in 20" flavor at a discount. Was about to get the ritchey 27.5 but found this one and have no regrets whatsoever.

Slap on a carbon seatpost and you are in steel heaven.
