Strength:

Big enough, low center of gravity, good for hot conditions (less back sweat), tough, comfortabe.

Weakness:

None so far.

The assault will fit a 2L camleback, mini-pump, multi-tool, 2 tubes, a small bottle of lube, keys, and a couple of bars.

I took a leap of faith when buying it, because I couldn't find confirmation about how big a bladder would fit, so I thought this would be helpful info to post.

Strength:

Keeps your back cool due to the low-on-the-back design and mesh straps. This same design feature allows you to access both side pockets without removing the pack. Holds a ton of stuff (pump, tube, snacks, etc) without feeling heavy. The mouth piece holder is an easy in-out mesh pocket. Comfortable.

Weakness:

You have to buy the bladder seperately. (Do your research as this is not an easy task.) More expensive than the rest. (But what good piece of equipment isn't?)

I LOVE this pack. If you bike in the heat with the Assault, you will never go back to the backpack-style hydration packs. Sure, the cost is a bit high, but the value of less retained body heat is much higher. I use a 10 year old Platypus bladder, but I am looking for a new one that fits, as Platypus has discontinued the bladder that I have. The ideal size (full) is 5-6 inches wide and 10-12 inches high. The ideal empty size is about 6-7 inches wide.

Strength:

Position on low back
Access to pockets

Weakness:

Find your own 50 oz bladder
Your buddies riding behind you will call you wingnut or other variations of the name...

I'm surprised that others haven't copied this design. More comfortable load on your back and pockets are very easy to access on the ride. It's just better - no other way to say it.

Strength:

Beautifully Made.

Love how it rides low on your back and very minimalist. Very easy to carry. I use a 1500 ml Nalgene bladder which works really well.

Weakness:

Tad pricey considering doesn't come with bladder.

Worth every penny! The best.

Strength:

- Positioning on lower back
- Light
- Pockets easy to access
- 50oz capacity - just right for a 2-3 hour ride or race

Weakness:

- Wingnut ran out of bladders and I had to source on my own

The positioning of the pack on the lower back instead of upper back is a big advantage - I'll never go back to Camelbaks.

I gave it a 4 for value since I had to go find my own bladder and then custom fit the hose length. Once they get their sourcing fixed I see no reason not to get this pack.

Strength:

Lightweight due to sailcloth.
Waterproof zippers.
Bladder is very easy to fill and clean.
Most comfy pack I have had the honor of using!
Fits like a glove.
No unwanted movement.
Still able to use 2 of my 3 pockets in my cycling jersey.
Mesh shoulder straps!
Room inside to carry some gear such as tubes, multi-tool, and nutrition.

Weakness:

Bit valve requires too much sucking power.
Hose is too long for my body size and fit on the bike.
Waist straps (I cut them off)

This is the best hydration pack I have used to date! The Strengths speak for themselves. Now go out and get your self one.
