K2 Bike Hydroplane Water Carrier

Highlights
Our Fluidlink packs are engineered to fit and function better than any other hydration available. K2's FLOW Valve™ is easy to use and lets the fluid flow into your mouth at a super high rate. The all-new 2 and 3 liter CrystalClear™ reservoirs keep your water clean and tasting great. A Nalgene® compatible screw cap lets you attach your favorite water filter for on-the-trail refills from the nearest stream! The new cap, slick new corner fitting, and no-taste material all make our CrystalClear™ reservoirs the best out there and a K2 exclusive! Another K2 innovation is AirMesh™ - the 3-Dimensional wonder fabric that acts as a wicking layer and padding in one. The A.J. Bender provides the perfect curve to keep your drink tube within reach.

The huge side pockets carry the weight low and to the sides, keeping the pack close to your back and out of the way.

    Strength:

good amount of storage for size. Sternum strap hold the pack tight

    Weakness:

    Bite valve doesn't flow enough

Great pack for the price, got it on sale at Nashbar. Hold 2 tubes, pump inside with bladder (which may break bladder in a crash) Topeak alien, snacks, keys, phone and maps. The sternum strap does a good job holding the pack in place. Its a good couple hour ride pack, not too big that you're carrying to much weight and not to small that you can't bring the essentials with you. But the bite valve doesn't flow enough water fast enough. the tube may be to narrow

    Strength:

Oodles of space for tools in stylish and very functional side pockets. Fit. Generous volume in water bladde

    Weakness:

Bite valve bites hardcore (perhaps updated since '99)

Perhaps K2 has done an update of their bite valve since 1999 when I purchased this hydration system, but the stock bite valve (1999 model) absolutely sucks. When its not falling off its consistently leaking or worse, spraying agua all over. I once carried it in my tote bag to a ride like an idiot and found all my post-ride clothes soaked and my water gone from the leaky valve. Kind of disappointing since they built this pack with Dana Designs who are meticulous in making their own gear. Otherwise, the rest of the Hydroplane is well designed and works great. Holds lots of tools and spare parts comfortably for those long hauls. Minus 1 chili for the leaky bite valve on mine.

    Strength:

Loads of water copacity, 3 liters. Thats alot, Tons of room for tools and candy or such, full length zipper, best valve i have ever used

    Weakness:

air mesh doesn't workj that well. dont like the hose routing

This thing is the best hydration pack i have ever use. Lots of room, low profile, loads of capacity for everything. doesn't wome araound. The bladder is taste free and the valve is indestructable. Best thing around. Little on the pricy side.
