Keeps water cold/cool on hot days (and probably from freezing on a winter ride).
The bag opening is big enough for you hand to clean and for ice cubes to chill.

Badly designed. See below.

I really can't recommend this pack.
You can't dump the water without getting your pack (and gear) wet.
You can't fill it without getting your pack (and gear) wet.
If you tighten the top enough not to leak, it's hard to unscrew.
The sternum straps are designed with the short pins where the pressure is and they keep coming unhooked.
The shoulder straps are too short if you like the pack out of the way low on your back.
The water and the center compartment share the same space so you if you store stuff in that compartment, you have to empty it to get a full water bag and then put it back in.
There's not really room for a spare mountain tube and adequate tools.
The bottom compartment that doubles as a saddle-bag is a kludge. It works, but who'd actually switch it back and forth? (I'm considering seeing if I can put a bigger saddle pack there that'll fit a mountain tube and the tools that're in there).
The only good thing is that the water compartment is insulated and keeps it cold/cool in hot weather -- especially if you add ice!

I bought this pack for 24 hour races. Just big enough for 1-2 laps (perfect for solo races). It can be quickly refilled without taking the bladder out. I wanted something very light and much cooler on my back. Will hold the basics in a small removeable storage bag, another zipped compartment and a outer web compartment. I just bought another one so i can do quick hand-offs at my next solo race.
