Strength:

lightwieght, folds up small, has a small footprint even when holding a bike, clamp and spin at any angle. good for biker's on budget with little space.

Weakness:

plain and simple..the clasp..only problem but it doesn't work, so...If you had to use it everyday it would drive you crazy

the quick release clasp is more like a death trap, however instead of fliping it over to clamp...if you manualy tighten it by screwing the clamp over and over again (take about 20 turns) it really holds well. I found no other way for it to work but this way has worked for me greatly. A little inconvienet and slow, but hold bikes steady and sure once you clamp it on good. also a good idea to balance the bike in your hands first then clamp there. the clamp head has it's own clamp so it can rotate to any ange (which is nice. It's not a park stand, but it was free. I guess i would value it around 40 new...not sure what they sell for.

Strength:

Relatively inexpensive, but has most of the features of the others. Easily folds into a small size.

Weakness:

A bit unstable, but hasn't fallen or been knocked over. (yet?)

If you don't tighten down the clamp enough the bike will move in the stand as you are working and if it's not parallel to the front legs of the stand it gets pretty unstable. Overall this is a good repair stand for a good price for people without a lot of room. I would also recommend getting the tool tray for the stand.

Strength:

Good price and versatile. Works well on small child's bike and adult bikes.

Weakness:

Clamp nut fell off after little use.
Can't find replacement nut because of abnormal size thread, english or metric.

Can't find replacement parts either at dealer or online.

Please let me know who makes this item so I can contact them to get a new nut assembly.

Either call me or email me with requested information.

Strength:

Easy to setup and breakdown. Bought just to throw the bike on but now I use to take to races because of it ease of transportability.

Weakness:

They only thing is when you crank down to tighten the pedals the stand feels like it will give out. It won't!

Great stand and would definitely recommend it for anybody.

Strength:

Cheap price & it folds up - that's it.

Weakness:

Where to start? It wobbles. I broke off the plastic bar that's used to clamp down the bike with very little effort. It doesn't adjust up or down, so be ready to sit on the ground to work on your lower components. It feels like it's going to fall on top of you when you're cranking on the tighter bolts on your bike. The angle adjustment for the clamp head is way too hard to use - you practically have to take it apart to do it. There's a reason it's inexpensive...

Again, look at the weaknesses I listed above. Add to that the fact that the clamp can only be used on the seat post - if you try to use it on any other tube (so that it's high enough that you don't have to sit on the floor), it will mark up the tube or, worse yet, bend it.

Don't do it. You fall in love with the picture in the magazine and the cheap price next to it, but it's going to get dusty in the corner of your garage when you replace it a month later with a "real" stand. At least it won't take up much space since it folds up. Three value chilis because it's inexpensive, one chili due to poor design and laughably inferior build quality.

Strength:

I still trying to find one.

Weakness:

Bike falls off, not stable, doesn't work when you have a water bottle cage one.

This is for the Essential stand, since they don't have a place for it.

I bought this thing two years ago and suffered with it for two long years. On some bikes, it won't work because the clamp goes right where the bottle cage is. One the ones it does work, you clamp it down, but it still won't hold the bike stable. So you end up working on the bike while holding on to it so it doesn't fall off. This wasn't a workstand, but a $44 piece of junk. I finally had enough, stepped up and bought an ultimate stand. It is the difference between having a 20 year old yugo and a new BMW.
