Strength:

Stable, Can rotate bike 360 degrees, easy to store with the collapsable legs, can be operated by one person

Weakness:

No height adjustment, Clamp is a little flexable, changing the clamp to go from 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 tubing is a pain

This is a great stand, no home mechaninc should be without one. I find that mountain biking requires much more maintenance than road. Since my whole family in into the sport I couldn't imagin not having a stand of some type and the Park is great.

The lack of height adjustment is somewhat over come by the fact that you can place your bike in the stand upside down and it is still stable. For low down work that requies the bike to be upright I can always find something to sit on.

I also got the turing attachment for $CDN30 its a little bettter than truing the wheel on the bike. I looked at the consumer truing stand and just could not see any real benefit, get the pro model if you are serious about building wheels.

In summary I really enjoy working with this stand it is easy for one person to operate. I use it for everything from derailleur adjusments to washing the bike. I have overcome the the clamp diameter adjustment problem by cuting a old grip and placing it around the smaller seat tubes, this works real well. So 4 flamers for value because a stand should have a height adjustment for the 200 bucks (CDN) they want up here, and 5 flamers for overall rating because Park is thinking about all of us garage mechanics.

Strength:

Clamp functionality; easy operation, solid grip.

Weakness:

Clamp flexes.

A much better clamp than my first. The large handle makes for easy clamp operation. Haven't noticed any slipping. Probably the best stand you can get if you can get it on sale for $99.

An excellent stand. Expensive, but worth it for rock solid stability.

This thing is very stable. I read some of the complaints about the lack of height adjustment but haven't had that problem yet. I'm 6'5" and I just pull up a stool and sit and work. For the rear der. I pivot the back end up to eye-level. Excellent stand!

After using my el cheapo for years, this stand has been a big step up. It holds my road bikes securely in any position, with none of the slipping problems. I added the tool tray and am very satisfied with the whole package.

Strength:

Stable, clamp allows clamping tubes that have cables/braze-ons and follows the KISS law: KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID.

Weakness:

Too low to clamp seat tube and comfortably work without constantly adjusting clamp angle (and I'm only 5'8) BUT clamp angle is easy to change.

This stand is great for the home mechanic and is super stable, but it's too low. That said, the only stand that's better is a shop's pro stand ($300+).

Strength:

nice clamp, holds fairly well

Weakness:

they should raise it a little higher. It sux to be 6'3 and a mechanic

The stand DOES NOT SLIP. If it slips take an old grip cut it in half and put it around the seat post. Easy enough. Most the bikes are aluminum and can't be clamped anyways. It is too short and the bottom legs should weigh more for sturdyness

This stand is perfect for the money. I do have two gripes about it: The 3 notch adjustable diameters, suck compared to clamps that are infinatly adjustable, and the stand's plethera of plastic makes it look too cheap. I was going to buy the Performance spindoctor pro stand, which is the same price, yet foldable, and has a height adjustment. Looks great in the catalog, but a trampoline is 10X more stable. The foldability doesn't matter, and height adjustment isn't worth sacrificing stability. One height fits all, and it's not the big of a deal too kneel down. I work needs to be done on the r.derailleur, rotate the back of the bike to eye-level. The Parkstand will hold any bike perfectly stable at ALL angles when clamped onto the seatpost. I have worked on my bike with it fully upside-down, while cranking on the pedals. Get the Park!

Last year I purchased a PCS-1 and I love it. You need to buy it if you work on your bike a lot and don't want to spend too much money. I had the slippage problems, which sucked, but emailed park and they sent me an upgrade kit free of charge. After installing it the stand works perfectly. NO SLIPPAGE WHATSOEVER! You could sit on the front of the bike with the seatpost clamped and nothing will move. 5 chilis!

I'm pretty happy with my stand. I've experienced a little of the slippage problem described here, but generally I'm very happy. As long as you tighten it
pretty good, it stays in place. Most of the time I work on the bike upright anyway. My only complaint this that I have to change the clamp to go from 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 tubing which is a pain(multiple bikes). Too bad they can't make a clamp that covers the whole range. The Wrench Force stand has a really clever clamp that can do this.
