Strength:

None.

Weakness:

You can't put air into anything.

We tried to put air into our bikes but it just would not work. (the bike brands were schwinn) you can push the pump down when it is not being put to use but when you try to put air into bikes the pump wont go down. so overall it is a piece of garbage.

Strength:

None.

Weakness:

Target should pull these from the shelves NOW! I can't even get this turd to pass air into the tire. It makes me wonder if Schwinn has any sort of a quality control department. Worst waste of money and now time because Ihave to return it. Damn....

Don't buy it. Seriously.

Strength:

Absolutely none. I gave it one chili, but would rate it negative 5.

Weakness:

Valve is a total piece of garbage. I cannot believe Schwinn would put their name on this pump. If the tire is flat, it will never attach to the stem. It closes backward from any logical valve, it will not stay on, it's too cumbersome, it sticks in the wrong air passage and won't produce any air. No instructions. Just all around terrible, waste of my hard earned money. Never buy.

Don't ever buy this, and in addition it left a bad impression on the Schwinn name.

Weakness:

Too complicated for its own good. The fancy built-in ball needle (which I do not have any plans on using) doesn't seal properly, preventing the pump from being able to fill a tire tube without constantly adjusting the needle inflator until it seals enough to direct the air to the primary filler. The multi-purpose filler is bulky and will not fit on short tube stems. The pressure gauge reads 20 PSI lower than actual value, requiring the use of an external pressure gauge.

The pump itself may be fine but the "features" render the unit unusable. Piece of junk!

Similar Products Used:

Had used a similar Bell pump (foot powered) that broke after several years of use. Side-by-side the Schwinn pump looked like a better quality pump so I choose it over the Bell pump. The pump itself may be better quality but the filler renders the Schwinn pump unusable unless I can replace the filler.

Strength:

Looks Good

Weakness:

Lack of instructions

Usually very careful with what I buy, had used a similar model before as I ride both racing bikes and mountain so bike pumps are part of life. However, could not get the ball valve to stop working. Packed it up, receipt and all and was going for a refund when I read 'Dave's' comments. Not accepting defeat, tried it again, this time pushing the pump as hard as I could over mountain bike valve, pulled out the lever and it worked, two very pumped tyres. Now I can head off to Burleigh Heads to catch some waves.

Strength:

nice gauge

Weakness:

Not easy to convert fromstandard to schrader type valve. A cheap piece of plastic in the head piece has disabled the thing and parts are nowhere to be found

Make it better next time

Strength:

Nice overall design and features. PSI gauge was a selling feature.

Weakness:

Everything. Open/Close valve works opposite the way you would normally operate such a device, making it difficult to get firm pressure of the nozzle onto the valve stem while lifting up on the lever to lock it in place. The psi gauge is also hard to read because as soon as you start pumping, it red lines the needle past 160psi, then it backs down approximately 20psi every few seconds. A regular tire pressure gauge would be more accurate and give instant results. For the amount of time spent on getting this thing to work and filling front and back bicycle tires, if I were to enter a professional bike race, I'd be dead last!

Don't buy this pump. For all the fancy do-hickies it has, it's not worth the aggravation. Somebody could get hurt using this thing or pop a blood vessel from all the frustration! And it looks as if at least one person posting on this product has indeed gotten hurt. Find yourself a simple bicycle pump, spend an extra buck on a metal tire gauge and save yourself a hassle. I'll be returning this to the store.

Weakness:

After only 2 summers my Schwinn Airdriver 100 wouldn't work. The well engineered head would not stay on the bicycle tire valve.

Scwinn quality isn't what it once was! My dad's bicycle pump is over 40 years old and I had to get rid of it because the rubber tube developed a crack! Poor design on a fancy valve connection.

Strength:

This looked like a great pump

Weakness:

The handle on this pump fell off on the downstroke and the metal shaft cut a deep hole in my husbands face nearly taking out his eye (the shaft was under 60 psi at the time.) DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP! My attorney will be in touch with the Schwinn boys.

DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP FOR ANY REASON!

Strength:

Good Pump,

Weakness:

Bad Head Attachment and hoses are too short, Pressure Guage should be at the top not bottom of the pump.

The washer that holds the schrader valve in place is too long. When the end cap is screwed on, it deforms the washer sleeve and pinches the schrader valve so it will not go on. I trimmed the washer sleeve bace 1/4 inch and it works great. How did this pass quality control reviews at Schwinn?
